Scottish golfer Robert MacIntyre has become one of the most well-known golfers in the country since his victory at the 2024 Scottish Open. He has become a national sensation and is receiving love from Scottish fans.
He was recently called to deliver the match ball to the Scottish rugby team ahead of their clash against Fiji. Ryder Cup Europe shared the video on their X account with the caption:
"Just @robert1lefty delivering the match ball for @Scotlandteam @autumnnations"
MacIntyre was seen wearing a Scottish jersey as he entered the field to hand over the match ball on Saturday (Nov. 2), at the Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium, Edinburgh.
The home team made an incredible start to take a lead of 26-0 in the first 22 minutes of the game. But Fiji tried their best to make a comeback with a score of 29-10 until the break. Eventually, the Scotland team registered a dominant victory in this game as they scored 57, while the opposition Fiji could muster only 17, with Darcy Graham receiving the man of the match award.
The Scottish team will take on South Africa in their next game on November 10th at the Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium, Edinburgh.
Robert MacIntyre registers his best season on the PGA Tour
Robert MacIntyre had the best season of his career on the PGA Tour this year, with two wins. The 28-year-old golfer started his season on a disappointing note as he missed three consecutive cuts but showcased his class at the Mexico Open with a T6 finish.
MacIntyre registered his first PGA Tour win at the RBC Canadian Open and a month later won the Scottish Open. Along with two wins, he registered six top-10s and eventually finished T17 at the 2024 Tour Championship. The 28-year-old Scottish golfer made $5,400,384 as official money on the PGA Tour this season.
