Phil Mickelson, a prominent figure in professional golf, joined the rival LIV Golf Tour in 2022. The left-handed golfer captains the HyFlyers team, which includes Brandon Steele, Cameron Tringale, and Andy Ogletree.

Mickelson, known for his incredible golf skills since childhood, is believed to have made 47 hole-in-ones throughout his career. Recently, NUCLR shared a highlight of his impressive ace from 2019.

The video shows him making a hole-in-one in American sports commentator Jim Nantz’s backyard just before the 2019 US Open. The backyard features a replica of the famous Pebble Beach’s hole No. 7.

Here's a look at the video:

Pebble Beach was the host of the US Open that year. Following his impressive ace, the 54-year-old traveled to Pebble Beach to compete in the tournament. However, his performance at the National Open was disappointing, as he finished T52.

Phil Mickelson talks about his future with Hyflyers

Phil Mickelson has expressed a desire to maintain his association with HyFlyers for the rest of his life, even though his playing career won’t last that long. In the 33 events he’s played so far, his best finish is T6, and he has only three top-10 finishes

“I'm realistic with where I'm at,” he said. “I'm 54 and I'm putting in the work.

“I also have a unique opportunity because of the fact that physically I've been able to withstand injuries and been able to be in better shape to do something at an age that nobody else has done, but I have not played at that level that I need to," Mickelson added.

The six-time major championship winner stated that he would step aside and let someone else take the HyFlyers to new heights if he wasn’t able to meet his own performance expectations.

"I see glimpses and my teammates see glimpses of me being where I expect to be able to compete at this level, but I'm also realistic with myself, and if I'm not able to, I'll step aside and let somebody come on in and take the HyFlyers to new levels," he said.

Mickelson is currently ranked 44th in the 2024 LIV Golf season-long individual standings. He has struggled to maintain consistency this season, with just one top-10 finish to his credit. In the team championship standings, HyFlyers have had a disappointing season, currently sitting in 12th place with only two events left.

Mickelson’s next tournament will be the 2024 LIV Golf Chicago event, the final individual championship which will take place on September 13th. However, he has no chance of winning the individual championship as only Jon Rahm and Joaquin Niemann are in contention to win the season-long championship.
