Charl Adriaan Schwartzel, also known as Charl Schwartzel, is a professional golfer representing South Africa. He was born on August 31, 1984, to George Schwartzel and Lizette Schwartzel. He first learned golf from his father, George, who took him to the local golf course three times a week. Charl was inspired by other successful South African professional golfers, including Ernie Els and Gary Player. He polished his skills while studying in school and college. He dominated every junior amateur golf event in his hometown.

Charl is a former PGA Tour player who has won two PGA Tours, including the 2011 Masters and Valspar Championship in 2016. He has won 16 professional events in his career, placing his name on the successful professional golfers’ list. Charl is the only South African player to win the Masters Tournament after Gary Player in 1961. Charl is currently playing in the LIV Golf Tour.
