Daniel Berger, one of the most intriguing golfers of the 2020–21 season, was born on April 7, 1993. Due to a minor bulge in the lower disc and deep bone sensitivity, he had to take a break from competing. However, he returned for the 2024 season after an 18-month absence, and as of June 2024, he had participated in 13 events.
In October 2020, Berger, who went professional in 2013, had risen to No. 12 in the world, as per the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR). His most recent win was at the 2021 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, where, with an eagle at the final hole, he defeated Maverick McNealy by two shots.

Daniel Berger’s Driver
Berger is using a Ping G430 LST driver with a loft angle set at 10.5 degrees and a Fujikura Ventus Black 6X shaft. A carbonfly warp, developed by Ping, is a revolutionary technology that saves weight and can be repurposed to improve overall performance. Eight layers of carbon wrap around the entire crown and into the driver's heel and toe.
According to Golf Monthly, it is an extremely good driver who does a great job of striking a balance between consistency and distance. With its high-tech appearance, robust feel, and overall performance, this low spin driver has a genuinely good appeal.
Daniel Berger’s Fairways
For fairways, Berger uses TaylorMade's Qi10 four-wood and six-wood, with loft angles set at 16.5 and 21 degrees, respectively. The four-wood has a Fujikura Ventus Black 7X shaft, while the six-wood has a Fujikura Ventus Black 8X shaft. As per Golf Monthly, there is only one word to describe the TaylorMade Qi10 fairway wood: outstanding all-arounder.
It is a multipurpose fairway wood that plays well both on the tee and the fairway by combining forgiveness and power. This fairway looks sleek and contemporary due to the new color scheme and design. Nevertheless, there is a drawback as well: the Infinity carbon crown has made clubface alignment a little more difficult.
Daniel Berger’s Irons
Berger was playing with a pair of the most legendary clubs on the PGA Tour before he left: TaylorMade Tour Preferred MC Irons, which were released in 2011. The most surprising thing here is that Berger is still using these 13-year-old irons and since TaylorMade no longer makes them, he purchases them from third-party sellers online, according to GolfWRX. Berger uses them with Project X 6.5 shafts.
Now the benefit of Berger's Tour Preferred MC irons is that they are made of 1025 carbon steel and feature forgiveness similar to a cavity back but with a blade iron's appearance. Further, they have an uncommonly visible weight in the rear cavity that helps to precisely position the center of gravity (CG) throughout the set. They are, in Berger's words, the "perfect set."
Daniel Berger’s Wedges
Berger uses three wedges, while his Titleist SM9 with a 50 degree loft and Project X 6.5 shaft is still the same, but he upgraded his other two SM9s to SM10s after his comeback, set at 56 and 52 degrees, both with True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue S400 shafts.
The Titleist SM9, released in 2022, featured 23 distinct loft and bounce variations and six grinds. Its progressive CG design has been updated to give a slightly lower and more consistent flight in the higher lofts for better distance management. Nevertheless, the latter is the only advantage it offers over its predecessor, the SM8, and custom fitting was required for optimal performance, which was and is the downside.
On the other hand, the improved SM10, released in 2024, represents a small but important gain. This wedge is more predictable and controllable due to its lower launch, higher spin, and more centrally located CG. The contemporary appearance and variety of grinds are added benefits.
Daniel Berger’s Putter
Berger uses a prototype Scotty Cameron Phantom putter, which is among the best putters available. Due to its updated alignment mechanism, comfortable new grip shape, and forgiveness off center, the 2024 Phantom range delivers performance in accordance with its pricing. But according to Golf Monthly, a softer grip would have made it 'perfect.'
Daniel Berger’s Golf Ball
For several years now, Berger has used the Titleist Pro V1, which is still unquestionably the most well-liked ball on the tour. It's perhaps the best golf ball available, with a design that offers superb control and a steady flight around greens.
