He plays regular off the shelf equipment without any customization. Aman has visited a cutom fitter and plans on incorporating suitable lofts and lies in his next set of clubs. He is presently testing Callaway equipment and the Apex Pro irons.
He plays the same equipment setup regardless of the course or tournament.
Aman carries 2 big tees and 2 small tees, a pitch marker and a ball marker of which 1 big tee and 1 small tee, pitch marker and ball marker stay in his right pocket and the rest in his left pocket.
He carries a protein shake, a mix of nuts, a Nutri Choice sports bar and water to consume
Pre-Round warm-up Routine: For a short course, starting with SW, moving on to PW and then a few balls with each alternate club and for a long course, starting with PW and then moving on with each alternate club.
Next, Chipping and 50 yard shots with the LW. Putting comes at the last with his routine taking 1.5 hours.
He believes having played golf for 17 years, the swing is ingrained in his muscle memory and e doesn’t feel the need to practice the 1st tee shot specifically before teeing off. Although he does practice different shot shapes of low draws and high draws, low fades and low draws and even low and high straight shots while warming up with each club. Those shots come in handy for a player on windy days and when faced with situations that demand a recovery shot.
He likes to wear light coloured clothes on days where he has afternoon tee-offs and wears darker shades when the draw is a more favourable morning draw.
The Patna-based golfer recorded a 5th placed finish in the Nomura Cup in 2015 while representing India and was India’s No.1 amateur. He has held a commendable ranking of 117 in the Official World Amateur Golf Rankings before turng professional in 2016.
