He has shown great interest in golf since his high school days, representing Stonewall Collegiate High School. He achieved remarkable success, earning the title of zone champion four times and serving as the team captain for three years. Following his high school career, he continued to excel in golf, playing for the Team Manitoba province squad for three years. His exceptional performance earned him the prestigious recognition of 2010 Manitoba Golfer of the Year.

Cockerill's college golf career was marked by consistent success, with 14 top-25 and 4 top-10 finishes in 22 tournaments.

After university, Cockerill made the transition to professional golf in 2015. He initially competed on the PGA Tour Canada before joining the Challenge Tour in 2019. The same year, he participated in his first DP World Tour event and subsequently earned a full card for the DP World Tour in 2020.

While Cockerill has yet to secure a victory on the DP World Tour, he has demonstrated impressive performances throughout his career. Notably, he finished runner-up at the Magical Kenyan Open in 2022, narrowly missed out on victory in a playoff at the ISPS Handa Championship in 2023, and achieved top-10 finishes at the Dubai Desert Classic (T4) and the Irish Open (T9) in 2024.

One of his best performances came in 2022 when he made two hole-in-ones in seven days. Cockerill carded his first ace at the European Masters in Switzerland. Unfortunately, his second hole-in-one was not officially recognized due to a regrettable oversight. He forgot to sign the scorecard, resulting in disqualification from the Made in HimmerLand event in Denmark.

Who is Aaron Cockerill's wife?

Aaron Cockerill is married to Chelsea Cockerill. The couple got married in October 2021 after being together for 15 years. They are now proud parents to their daughter, Addison Kate Cockerill, who was born on February 1, 2023.

The 32-year-old's wife and daughter accompany him on tours, providing him with immense support. His wife, in particular, has demonstrated exceptional dedication, once going to great lengths to retrieve her husband's golf clubs while six months pregnant.

During a golf tournament in Mallorca, the Canadian golfer's clubs had not arrived as planned. Despite contacting the airline and posting on social media, the clubs were eventually located in Madrid, approximately 450 miles away. So, Chelsea, who was six months pregnant at the time, took a 1-hour, 20-minute flight to Madrid and retrieved the golf clubs for her husband.
