His earliest memory of the sport is at the Troy Burne Golf Club in Wisconsin where he was putting with his father. He was just two years old at the time.

Prior to playing for the University of Alabama and Florida Gulf Coast University, Frankie Capan III attended Northwest Christian High School in Phoenix, Arizona.
During his junior year of high school, Capan III had injured his hip and was out of the game for six months. While he was in recovery, he worked at the Silverleaf Golf Club as a valet driver.
Capan III revealed in a press conference at the 2023 3M Open (21:20:00 - 21:53:00), that he had valeted Adam Hadwin and LIV Golf star Jon Rahm's car.

Frankie Capan III currently plays on the PGA Tour's Korn Ferry Tour. However, he played his first PGA Tour event at the 2016 Puerto Rico Open at Coco Beach where he played as an amateur and missed the cut.
In the 2022 - 2023 season, Capan III played two PGA Tour events. He played the 2023 U.S. Open and missed the cut. However, he made the cut at the 2023 3M Open and finished the event tied for 62nd with a total score of four under par.
