The 2024 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship will be played at three historic Scottish courses - St Andrews, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns from 3 to 6 October. The event will feature one of the strongest fields in recent years, including several top players.
World number three Rory McIlroy leads the field at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. The Northern Irishman is coming off back-to-back runner-up finishes at the Irish Open and BMW PGA Championship. McIlroy also leads the DP World Tour's Race to Dubai by a wide margin.
The event features a number of players who regularly play on the PGA Tour, including defending champion Matt Fitzpatrick, as well as Tommy Fleetwood, Shane Lowry, Billy Horschel, Nicolai Hojgaard, Robert MacIntyre and Matthiew Pavon.
Last week's spectacular winner of the Spanish Open, Angel Hidalgo, will also be playing in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. Rasmus Hojgaard, who beat McIlroy at the Irish Open three weeks ago, will also be present.
The event will also feature several players with long careers in European golf. These include two-time winner of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, Padraig Harrington, as well as Pablo Larrazabal, Danny Willett and Nicolas Colsaerts.
The list of amateurs who will play at St. Andrews, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns includes several former stars of other sports as well as celebrities from various walks of life. It includes soccer players Gareth Bale, Ruud Gullit and National Football League, John Elway.
LIV Golf players at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship
The 2024 edition of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship will feature an interesting group of LIV Golf players. Heading the group is his season's individual champion, Jon Rahm. Five-time major champion Brooks Koepka will also be taking part.
A notable case in point is Talor Gooch, who will be returning to an event recognised by the Official Golf World Ranking (excluding majors) for the first time since the 2023 Hong Kong Open.

Several LIV Golf players, such as Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton, are looking to meet the eligibility criteria for the 2025 Ryder Cup. The others will be keen on improving their respective world rankings by making the cut.
Specialist site IMG Arena has McIlroy tied with Jon Rahm as the player with the best odds of winning the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. The site gives them both odds of 6/1.
