South Korean professional golfer Byeong Hun An took to social media platform X (fka Twitter) after Wyndham Clark's recent celebration. In Round 3 of the 2024 Presidents Cup, Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele teamed up to beat Si Woo Kim and Tom Kim in a foursomes match.
After Cantlay and Schauffele's victory, a video of Wyndham Clark went viral in which he was seen using Stephen Curry's goodnight celebration against the International Team. Byeong Hun An took to X and called out Clark by quote tweeting the video. He wrote:
However, after writing the post, Byeong Hun An announced he was deleting his tweet because he wants to be a better person. This post from the South Korean golfer earned him a lot of support from the golf community and some fans even criticized Wyndham Clark for his behaviour. A user wrote:
"Wyndham Clark is insufferable, coming from an American. Bring back P Reed."
Let us take a look at more reactions to Byeong Hun An's post:
"Wyndam is the least likeable guy on PGA. I stand by your original comment," a user wrote.
"Nobody in America likes Wyndham Clark," another user wrote.
"I don’t like Clark but I hate all the fake competition. Behavior is odd when you don’t see any of this week to week. Now if we saw guys taunting each other on the closing holes of a major, that would be interesting," wrote a user.
"I don’t know what I missed, but two things can be true: 1) I root for team 🇺🇸 2) I root for you because you are a great follow. Cheers to everything coming down to hole 18 on match 30!" one user wrote.
"As an American and Team USA supporter, I’m not a Wyndham Clark fan (I actually don’t know any), BUT if Kim had not taunted the US with that gesture a hole too early then Clark wouldn’t have given it back to him. So your tweet is major sour grapes," a user wrote.
It's important to note that before Wyndham Clark could use Stephen Cury's 'goodnight' celebration, Si Woo Kim used the same celebration earlier in the day. Kim later stated he used the celebration because his favorite NBA player is Stephen Curry.
