ZOZO Championship

The Zozo Championship is a professional golf tournament held in Inzai, Chiba Prefecture, Japan's Greater Tokyo Area. Since the event's start in 2019, ZOZO, a Japanese clothing brand, has been a sponsor. It is co-sponsored by the PGA Tour and the Japan Golf Tour.

Under an agreement that will extend through at least 2025, the tournament is the first to be approved by the PGA Tour in Japan. It would also have a Japan Golf Tour sanction. For his 82nd PGA Tour victory, Tiger Woods won the first-ever tournament. Sam Snead's record was tied by this.

Owing to continuous travel restrictions brought on by the COVID-19 epidemic, the tournament was rescheduled for October 2020 at Sherwood Country Club in Lake Sherwood, California. The Japan Golf Tour ultimately withdrew from the 2020 competition, which is now exclusively sanctioned by the PGA Tour.

The Japan Golf Tour and the PGA Tour both approved the tournament's return to Japan in 2021. It was, nevertheless, an unofficial Japan Golf Tour money event. That year, Hideki Matsuyama won in his native nation by five strokes over Brendan Steele and Cameron Tringale after he birdied the last hole.

Who won the PGA ZOZO Championship in 2023?

After claiming his sixth PGA Tour victory at Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club in Chiba, Japan, Collin Morikawa became victorious in the 2023 Zozo Championship. A winner's share of the $8,500,000 purse worth $1,530,000 went to Morikawa.

Following a strong final-round 63 that put him at 14-under 266, Morikawa won his first PGA Tour event since the 2021 Open Championship with a six-shot victory. Eric Cole and Beau Hossler finished in a tie for second place with an 8-under total.
