Born in Switzerland, Grosjean competed in the 2003 Formula Lista Junior championship and moved to the French Formula Renault championship in 2004 after winning all ten rounds of the previous series.
In 2021, Grosjean chose to compete in the IndyCar Series on a joint deal between Dale Coyne Racing and Rick Ware Racing with Honda as their manufacturer.
