Romario Shepherd (Player of the Match): "Feels really good, we knew before coming here it was important for us to win this match so it was good to get the win. Was pretty relaxed as Pooran was there, was trying to get to the last over. It helps, as an all-rounder, whenevr you do well in one department it gives you confidence in the other. Still want to be the complete all-rounder, working with the coaches."

Nicholas Pooran (MI Emirates' Captain): "Really happy, a complete performance with bat and ball. Really crucial to have Romario there, gives us a chance to send Polly (Pollard) high up in the middle and give him time to settle, even myself. Really proud of the guys, putting in the efforts in the nets and good to see those catches. Proud of the bowlers too, one or two bad overs, we can discuss about that."

Sunil Narine (Abu Dhabi Knight Riders captain): "Think upto the 18th over we were going well. The slower variant and one guy coming in made it tough. Shepherd has power, they played well. Having one spinner, it is tough (keep up with the over rate) as guys you could move around quicker into their fielding positions. You wouldn't want those things (extras), goes against you. We were going good with the bat, been losing wickets in a cluster a few games now. Think we have to try and rebuild after losing a wicket. We played good cricket at the end of the day, did well the first 18 overs, with the bat we started good. Key moments we have to try and get on top on and make better decisions."

A comprehensive win in the end as it turned out for the MI Emirates as they brush aside ADKR and continue their winning run registering their 4th win on the trot.

It is not often you see that Andre Russell is not-out in a run chase and his team fall short of a target but the task in hand for so big for even him that ADKR fell way short and in the end were nowhere close to getting to the target of 187.

ADKR got the start they needed with Mayers blazing away at the top and it was on the back of him largely that they were going at 10 an over for the first 4 overs. However, he was run-out in the fourth over and the chase just went downhill for the Knight Riders.

ADKR slipped from 39/0 to 56/4 and then 88/6 as majority of their batters failed to counter the pressure applied by the Emirates bowlers and succumbed to the climbing required run-rate.

Russell and Narine got together with the team needing 99 off 42 and they did rekindle some slim hopes for them but by and large MI Emirates held their nerves and some spectacular catches too and emerged winners quite comfortably.
