So, that will be it from the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur. A huge shot in the arm then for Bangladesh to win against the World Champions England, by a margin of 3 games to nil! After this impressive performance in T20Is, action resumes in Bangladesh with Ireland touring for 3 ODIs, 3 T20Is and 1 Test, from the 18th of March. Do join us for that. It should be another good set of international games between sides looking forward to impressing even more at this level. This is the pair of Pradeep and Bidipto saying good bye. Keep following Sportskeeda!
Shakib Al Hasan (Bangladesh captain): We fielded exceptionally in all the three matches which was a big change from our previous performances. With the World Cup coming up next year, if we continue like this, we will be in a good position for sure. Today, Litton and Rony started really well for us. We did not know how the wicket would play but their batting helped us score in excess of 150. Mustafizur was an impact player for us today with his bowling. Now, it is about continuing the momentum into the Ireland series. Ireland are a good T20 side, so it will be a good challenge for us.
Najmul Hossain Shanto has been adjudged the Player of the Series! Here is what he has to say.
Najmul Hossain Shanto: The good thing is that we have won the series and I want to thank all the coaching staff to help me contribute in this big win. We can always improve on our overall game. Hope to keep the performance of mine going in the Ireland series.
Litton Das is the Player of the Match! Here's what he has to say: I'm really happy to have performed and stepped up when the team needed. It's challenging with the new ball, the ball steeps up and I did play according to the merit of the ball. The way Rony batted in the powerplay and then Shanto, really helped play my shots.
Jos Buttler (England captain): Not at all, pretty disappointing to lose the series but congratulations to Bangladesh, they outplayed us and they deserved to win the series. We came back well, we missed some opportunities in the field and it's disappointing, but we restricted to a good score in the end. With the bat, we didn't kick on to finish well. Losing two wickets in two balls, disappointing myself, didn't dive and making the ground and wasn't fully committed in making that run.
Bangladesh win by 16 runs and win the 3-match T20I series 3-0!
Litton Das 73 (57) | Taskin Ahmed - 2/26 (4) Dawid Malan 53 (47) | Adil Rashid - 1/23 (4)
Jos Buttler and Dawid Malan came together to bat after Phil Salt went early and kept smashing the Bangladesh bowlers all around the park! They scored 95 runs for the 2nd wicket and gave England a brilliant launchpad to win the game but that over from Mustafizur Rahman changed the complexion of the match!
The 14th over of the innings saw an outstanding catch from wicketkeeper Litton Das to end a fine half-century from Malan. Immediately after, Mehidy Hasan Miraz hit the stumps directly at the striker's end to cut Buttler's stay at the crease short! That brought two new batters to the crease in the space of two deliveries. Buttler himself played really well to score 40 runs off 31 balls.
After that, runs did come thick and fast and the bowling kept getting tighter. Field placements suddenly seemed proper and the home crowd was getting right behind Shakib and his team!
Moeen Ali and Ben Duckett tried to forge a comeback of sorts but Taskin Ahmed's double strikes in the 17th over ended that possibility too.
In the last over, with England requiring 27 runs to win, Chris Woakes hit a couple of boundaries back-to-back off the first two balls to rekindle English hopes. But Hasan Mahmud came back excellently to bowl three quality slower balls and nullify any more boundary. The last ball was a dot too and Bangladesh were able to come out on top yet again to clinch their 3rd straight T20I win over the reigning World Champions!
Bangladesh have inflicted a clean sweep over England for the first time in T20Is!

19.6 Hasan Mahmud to Chris Woakes, BANGLADESH WHITEWASH ENGLAND! Bangladesh seal the series, 3-0 and they have annihilated the World Champions here. Full toss into Woakes, skips down the track and he fails to make any contact as it thuds on the pad. What a moment this for Bangladesh!
19.5 Hasan Mahmud to Chris Woakes, another slower one on the fifth stump. Woakes once again has a wild swing and a miss. It's a dot ball. Crowd is already celebrating here!
Good delivery under pressure! Just inside the tramline with that slower one from Hasan, foxing Jordan!
19.4 Hasan Mahmud to Chris Jordan, another slower one, well outside the off-stump. Jordan throws his bat too early and misses it yet again. Mahmud should hold his nerve for the next two deliveries, that's all he has to do!
England need 18 runs off 3 balls.
19.3 Hasan Mahmud to Chris Woakes, OH! Good change of pace this time, well outside the off-stump. Woakes was too early in for a swing and a miss, they steal a bye though.
England need 19 runs from 4 deliveries!
19.2 Hasan Mahmud to Chris Woakes, FOUR MORE! Is there still hope for England here? Full and just outside the off-stump. Woakes backed away, opens the face of the blade and carves it away. Puts it in the gap between backward point and short third for another boundary.
England now need 23 runs off 5 balls.
19.1 Hasan Mahmud to Chris Woakes, FOUR! Exactly what England needed at the start of the over. Low full toss, misses the yorker by not much. Woakes reaches and smacks it down to long-off, goes one bounce into the fence.
Hasan Mahmud [3.0-0-21-0] comes back into the attack.
The bowling from Shakib in this over has been top notch! Magnificent with his lengths and changes of pace! Now, it is a tall ask for England to win it from here. They need some lusty blows for sure.
