That brings us to the close of yet another thrilling encounter in this T20 World Cup. South Africa make it 3 from 3 and are virtually through to the super 8s. Bangladesh have now lost their second match after winning a close one against Sri Lanka and that has opened the table up for the teams below them. Aiden Markram (South Africa captain) : It is always pretty nervous in last-over finishes, can make you mentally tired. Good to be a part of these games, sometimes you come out on the right side. Could have gone a couple of meters either way and we would be having a different conversation (on his catch). Depends on the situation (Maharaj bowling the final over). Thought with the seamers bowling it would be important to stretch the game. He (Miller) has been superb for us, got us to a total that was good enough for us. Good for Klassen to find some form as well.
Najmul Hossain Shanto (Bangladesh captain): Everyone were nervous, we were confident with Mahmudullah and Jaker in the middle, they'll pull this one off but it can happen in cricket. (About Tanzid's spell) He's worked really hard last couple of days, he showed why he is good, got us in the game with the new ball and showed lot of character today. This is the match we should've won, last couple of overs, South Africa bowled really well. Rishad is very good, the way he's bowled in the last couple of series, showed his class and luckily we got the leg-spinner after a long time. It was very entertaining , thanks to all the supporters, hopefully they come in big numbers in Caribbean as well.
Heinrich Klaasen is the Player of the Match! Here's what he has to say: It was not so nice on the heart, but it's good to get a win on the board. The wicket is not too great to stroke play on it, but Dave and Stubbs played on it, we got good information from him and got a good decent score, but still thought we were at least 10 runs short. Luckily we have experience in the change room, we had more or less of a one-day mindset, just to get us to that 15 over mark and pitched on, but unfortunately we couldn't. Good confidence, three pressurized games now, I think we're almost through and one more to go, hopefully we do well later.

Bangladesh had it in the bag, they even got two full tosses in the last two balls to get the 6 runs needed but it was not meant to be for them. In the end, it is Maharaj and South Africa who prevail in a nail-biter. Yet again, Nassau County has produced another low-scoring thriller and it is the team that held their nerve that has come out on the right side of the results.
South Africa extend their unbeaten run against Bangladesh in T20Is as they go 9-0 against the Asian team and virtually book their place in the Super 8s.
114 was the target for Bangladesh and for large parts of the chase they seemed to have it under control as they went about their business in a cool and calm manner only to fluff it right at the end. The start was decent but Tanzid Hasan was dismissed by Rabada in the second over. Shanto trotted along but he kept losing wickets at the other end, Nortje was breathing fire and got two wickets in the middle reducing Bangladesh to 50/4.
Man in-form Hridoy and Mahmudullah took control of the chase post that and took Bangladesh close to the target. They were clinical in their approach and it was looking like they would take them past the line. At one stage, they needed 20 runs off the last 3 overs with two set batters at the crease.
But then, KG returned and broke the stand giving away just the two runs off the final over. South Africa then choked the batters, the new batter was not able to get it moving along straightaway and it was all left to Mahmudullah.
He tried his best with Maharaj bowling the final over but a superb catch at the boundary of the penultimate delivery by Markram saw the end of the Bangladesh hopes. South Africa were braver, smarter, had greater composure and eventually won the game.

19.6 Keshav Maharaj to Taskin Ahmed, THAT'S IT! MAHARAJ HOLDS ON TO HIS NERVE! That was another full toss, might just be below waist height outside the off-stump. Taskin has a big swing, only was able to slice it towards vacant extra-cover as they get just one. South Africa think, they just got out of jail and make three in a row now!

MARKRAM YOU BEAUTY!!! What calmness and composure to take a scintillating catch to deny Mahmudullah the maximum. Mahmudullah cannot believe it but he will have to walk back, the fans are shocked as well
19.5 Keshav Maharaj to Mahmudullah, OUT! MARKRAM PULLS OFF A BLINDER! Mahmudullah can't believe it, stands in disbelief but he has to go. Mahmudullah wouldn't have gotten a better ball to seal the game. Full toss into the batter, Mahmudullah slams it down the ground and Markram cool as ice, runs around and times his jump to cling on. Terrific, just terrific stuff this from the South African skipper!

19.4 Keshav Maharaj to Rishad Hossain, LOUD SHOUTS FOR LBW, TURNED DOWN! Rishad walks right across for a slog sweep and misses, pings on the pad as they sneak in a leg-bye. South Africa review it. That just might've struck him outside the line though.
It's flat line through and through with the UltraEdge. Ball tracker has IMPACT OUTSIDE THE LINE! Banglades get the leg-bye, but they need 6 off 2 now!

Jaker Ali had a chat with Mahmudullah before this ball and probably the decision would have been to look for the maximum, does not get hold of it and now South Africa are firmly back in this. 7 needed off 3 balls
19.3 Keshav Maharaj to Jaker Ali, OUT! PICKED OUT LONG-ON! Huge, huge moment in the game and more importantly it's a dot ball for South Africa. Floated a length delivery on the middle and leg. Jaker shimmies down the track to launch it out of the ground, gets no power behind it and Markram holds on to a sitter at long-on.
That was a run-out for the taking but an awkward throw from the deep and Maharaj fumbles, Mahmudullah survives. 7 needed off 4
19.2 Keshav Maharaj to Jaker Ali, OH DEAR! Better throw and Mahmudullah would've been a goner. Full toss into the batter, Jaker smashes it back past the bowler, they hustel back for the brace. Maharaj gets the throw, but can't collect it at all.
