The IPL just keeps on producing thrillers. That one was a rollercoaster ride. Delhi Capitals might still be pinching themselves and asking how did they lose it. Many say, it is wins like these that spark turnarounds. Mumbai Indians have done it in the past. If they go on to qualify for the playoffs this would be the night that everyone will look back upon. Another team needs a similar turnaround. Can Chennai Super Kings find their spark back tomorrow? They take on Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana stadium. The match begins at 7:30 PM IST. Karn Sharma is the Player of the Match. He says, "It feels good. If I get a chance or not, I keep on working hard. I stay optimistic. It is such a big tournament, I know I will get my chance. When I get up in the morning, I try to work hard. Eventually, I know my chance will come. KL Rahul's wicket was the turning point. There was no dew in the first innings. Fielding can change the game, three run-outs is crazy. Bowlers are happy, didn't have to bowl the final one. Was one of those games, ebbed and flowed. Bowling coach Malinga is happy. Boult nailed the Yorkers and happy to get the win. Karn spell to come in, to get three big wickets is massive. It was the only way to slow teams down. Karun Nair's innings was outstanding, his first game and to do that is brilliant. They were pretty smaller, you have to be out of the arc at times. You'll get in these small grounds, but have to back yourselves, be aggressive. Spinners done well, be defensive."

Axar Patel [Delhi Capitals captain]: "(When asked about where did the game go) It went Mumbai's way (chuckles). Soft dismissals in the middle order cost us the game, we still had an over left but lost way too many wickets. We might've hit the panic button with the shot selection. Can't expect the lower order batters to bail us out every time. No need to worry much right now. I was happy with the way the pitch was responding, dew was on too. Had we held on our catches, we might've been chasing less tonight. Vipraj has been brilliant, confidence as a captain is high with three spinners are doing well. The MI fans are over the moon. DC fans are stunned. It seems like the visitors have stolen this one. Until a few minutes ago, we were all pondering how many will Ashutosh fancy leaving for the final over of Trent Boult. And BAM! In a blink of an eye, three runouts and it is game over. It was like a rollercoaster ride that gave you so much thrill, coming to an abrupt end. Perhaps, that is what was needed to hand DC their first loss of the season. Perhaps, that is what MI needed to get their campaign back on track.

There is indeed a lot to talk about, but let us start with the Impact Players first. For DC tonight, it was Karun Nair, who has now made a habit of breaking the doors of opportunity down. To think of it, if Faf du Plessis was fit he might not have even gotten a chance. They sent him at number three and he put on a show. Every time, he hit the ball to the boundary, fans of batting salivated. Such was the exquisiteness of the shots he played. For those who have followed his journey, each stroke off his blade felt like a personal win. While, he was out there in the middle, Delhi seemed to be cruising.

But MI pulled it back in the middle overs. It were the two spiners who delivered the goods. First, Mitchell Santner delivered a peach to dismiss Nair and then, Karn Sharma — MI's Impact Player took centre stage. He picked up three crucial wickets — those of KL Rahul, Tristan Stubbs and the well-set Abishek Porel. Still, we all felt Delhi were in it, until those runouts happened. But such is T20 cricket sometimes, fickle yet enthralling.

Earlier, N. Tilak Varma played a high quality knock as well. Yes, the wicket was a batter's friend and the boundaries were tiny. However, you still have to make the most of it. Tilak's poise at the crease, his decisiveness in picking which ball to go after and the vigor in the execution would have made fans of batting salivate. He looked head and shoulders above everyone else. Special mention to Kuldeep Yadav as well, who exhibited magical control and myriad of variations. The batters struggled to pick him at times. Even when they felt like they were getting a hang of it, Kuldeep would shuffle it up to flummox them again. On a tough ground for bowlers, the leggie finished with 2/23 off his 4 overs.

Don't forget Naman Dhir's 17-ball-38*. In the end, it proved to be crucial.
