Mitchell Starc (Player of the Match, Delhi Capitals): It was just about backing the execution. Sometimes it comes off, sometimes it doesn't, but it was an exciting game. You play that over 10 more times and do 10 different things. A bit of luck went along, and luckily got it to the Super Over. I got it a bit wrong there. I also stepped over the back line, but we had the batting depth to get the job done. It is a good mix of youth and experience. It has been a great group to be a part of, and hopefully, we will get more success.
Axar Patel (captain, Delhi Capitals): At that time, when you are hit for runs, you hit the panic button. When we took the timeout, I spoke to the team and said that we will have to do something here. The new batter was also under pressure, as ones and twos were hard to come by with the ball gripping. When I was playing in the Champions Trophy, I had a cut on my finger and bowled as desired. I wanted to lead from the front and that is what I am happy doing. I was thinking that if Starc could execute, we might win this. Bowling 12 yorkers in a low, that is why he is an Australian legend.

Tristan Stubbs (finished it off with a six off the final ball of the match, incidentally, the Super Over): "It felt really bad when I dropped the catch! But thankfully, KL helped me through the Super Over and kept me calm. That drop catch was tough to take though! Sandeep was going slow and into the pitch, and I put my eggs into one basket and waited for it. Thankfully, it happened. I'm happy with how I'm playing, just want to keep it going. We need to get the wins coming, it's such a tournament that wins are necessary, especially after the loss we had the other night."
Sanju Samson (Rajasthan Royals captain): "The side feels alright, will observe tomorrow and see how it is. We bowled pretty well, our fielders too brought in a lot of energy. I felt that it was score we could chase, but Mitchell Starc's bowling towards the end was the difference! We batted decently as well, but Starc was too good! Sandeep Sharma has bowled some really tough overs for us, really tough overs. Great to have someone like him in the side!"

What a game, and it ends in some style. It was expected to be another exciting 12 deliveries for the two teams, but the players and the fans at the venue have profusely sweated here in anticipation of seeing who comes out on top. Well played to DC and comiserations to RR, who had come so near, but ended up so far.
Mitchell Starc, who bowled the last over in regulation, was tasked with bowling again in the Super Over. The Aussie pace ace erred, but did very well to show his class and come back, ensuring that RR didn't get enough runs on the board. RR erred as Riyan Parag and Shimron Hetmyer failed to get the runs on board, and RR lost wickets in consecutive run outs.
For DC, it was just two big hits and game over. While KL Rahul narrowly survived a run-out attempt, he anticipated the slower one from Sandeep Sharma on the very next delivery and hit it over deep point. Rahul then turned the strike over to his teammate, Tristan Stubbs, at the other end, who ended the game with a telling hit and marking a fitting end to a fine game.
