So, Delhi Capitals inch closer to sealing their playoff spot in this competition. The Meg Lanning effect might be real after all, but the humble skipper obviously won't accept it. The Capitals keep marching on, as does this tournament. The Mumbai Indians take on the Gujarat Giants tomorrow at the Brabourne Stadium tomorrow. Make sure you join us for that contest.

Right then. It's five losses on the trot for the Royal Challengers Bangalore with the team still searching for a way to get off the mark. Their campaign isn't quite over yet, with some permutations and combinations keeping them alive, just about. Most RCB fans are used to this, so there's nothing new they have to worry about. Banter aside, they'll want to be searching for positives in this tournament and more importantly, take some pressure off their captain

Jess Jonassen is the Player of the Match. Let's hear what she has to say: It got much closer than we would have liked. I was really happy to be there at the end. There were some tight moments there with Kapp's Superwoman dive coming in handy. Capsey's cameo at the start got us off to a start and was equally impressive as well. (Batting) I guess it's really hard to get up the order in the Australian lineup. I bat in the middle to lower order in the domestic games and that's helped me here. I love batting and as long as I'm going with my strengths, hitting the ground, it's good. It's a bit of a surprise standing here, there are probably other players who deserve this. I think the bowlers set it up really well, but we take the two points as a group and move on. (Nerves at any stage?) There were a couple of balls in the 16th or 17th over, and Schutt's last over. I told Kappie to hold her shape and back herself, and luckily she nailed one to the boundary. Once we got through that, I had some plans against the off-spinner to get a boundary early by playing the sweep instead of stepping out on this slowish surface.

Meg Lanning: It was close at the end there. JJ and Kappie did an excellent job keeping their composure. We got ahead in the game but RCB bowled well to restrict us. Happy to get over the line in the end. I would have loved to finish it off earlier than that. Capsey's innings got us off to a flier and we want to finish it earlier from there, but it was good getting there in the end. (Bowling plans) We executed very well. If you bowl a good length, it's effective. We still have a lot to work on and that's what we're looking to do as a group. (Meg Lanning effect on DC?) I try to stay pretty calm no matter what is happening. That's T20 cricket for you. If you're under pressure, the opposition will be all over you. The girls are great. There's plenty of experience there. Shikha Pandey has gone under the radar a bit with the ball and with Kapp and Jonassen leading the attack, it's easy for me.

Jemimah Rodrigues: I was very disappointed when I got out. It is easier for a set batter to play. The way JJ (Jess Jonassen) came out and hit those boundaries was just amazing. These are the matches we live for. It is very important for our teams to be tested because that is when the real character comes out. It is good that we are getting such matches in the league stage, so it will help us in the finals. (About the sloppy fielding) One bag game doesn't define us. We just need to forget it and back ourselves as we have one of the best fielding units!

Smriti Mandhana (Royal Challengers Bangalore captain): Yeah, definitely. Really good effort from our bowlers to take the game to the 20th over. The partnership got us back into the game. Pez and Richa batted brilliantly to get us to a defendable total. Not the best of the starts and that includes my batting. The first 14 overs really hurt us. Even 10-15 more runs would have helped us. The tracks are changing. CCI and DY, the number of matches that are being played, the wickets will slow down at the fag end of the tournament. It will definitely assist pace off and the spinners more and more!

Jess Jonassen punches the air in delight. Smiles and applause from Kapp at the other end, and all smiles and hugs in the dressing room. Delhi Capitals keep building on their momentum to make it 4 wins in 5 matches and move closer to the playoff spot. Much the opposite for the Royal Challengers Bangalore, who are yet to win in this tournament, which means this is pretty much the end of their playoff hopes.

They fought admirably tonight after a disappointing start, posting a decent total on the board to try and give themselves a chance. However, they always seemed short of the par score and didn't have enough on the board for this Delhi Capitals unit, which simply doesn't know how or when to give up. They lost Shafali Verma early in this innings, but Alice Capsey stepped up with an excellent counter-attacking cameo to make sure they don't get bogged down.

RCB kept chipping away with their spinners doing well in the middle overs. Bose got the better of Capsey after being hit for 12 runs in the over, with Lanning falling to Shobana soon after. However, Rodrigues steadied the ship in the middle alongside Marizanne Kapp, with the two more than happy to take their time in a situation where they were allowed to do so.

Shobana struck back to dismiss Rodrigues to give RCB a glimmer of hope, but that was shut down rather easily by Jess Jonassen and Kapp in the end. There would have been a few nerves jangling in the final over but the Delhi Capitals did what they've been doing throughout the tournament, getting over the line. Bangalore, on the other hand, still can't find their first win in this tournament. They had some chances along the way in this game too, but could never really make the most of them.

19.4 Renuka Singh Thakur to Jess Jonassen, SIX AND FOUR! JJ FINISHES OFF THE MATCH IN STYLE! Full delivery, Jonassen presents a full face of the bat and powers it over the bowler's head for a boundary. Heart-break for RCB as Delhi win the match with two balls to spare!

No! No way! Renuka went with length and Jonassen wasn't going to miss out! That's what Mandhana is saying too. Scores are level!

19.3 Renuka Singh Thakur to Jess Jonassen, SWUNG OVER THE FENCE! WHAT A STRIKE FROM JJ! Length delivery outside-off, Jonassen swings it sweetly over deep mid-wicket for a maximum. Ellyse Perry thought she had a chance but the ball went beyond her jump!
