That's all from us then! We hope you enjoyed Sportskeeda's live coverage of this ODI between England and Ireland. For now, it's Soumarya Dutta signing off on behalf of Sooryanarayan Sesha. See you soon!
Zak Crawley collects the series trophy and poses with his teammates as the room breaks into a warm applause. In whatever little we saw of him on the field in the last ODI, he certainly looked at ease. Whether he is looked at at a long term option or not is something that time will bear an answer to. But this young England side has put on an impressive display and how! The kind of depth they have simply augurs brilliantly as far as their white-ball future is concerned and some exciting times certainly lie ahead for the team.
Zak Crawley (England captain): It was a great honor to captain the side and to get the series win was really special. It's a great sign for us as a country moving forward to keep that pressure on those guys (main team) and they get better. I think you watch how the first team plays and you have to play like that. The openers went out and played unbelievably well today. With just two men out it was really difficult (for the bowlers). I think it's the thing about this format - you have to be brave. I'd love to continue playing ODI cricket for England down the line. That's been my goal - to play as many formats of international cricket as I can. It's certainly a goal of mine.
Paul Stirling (Ireland captain): It's been very disappointing as to how we went about today and we will have some time after today so we will be sitting down and having a chat with them. It was a very difficult couple of overs and it kept spiraling from there. Luckily the rain came in at the right time for us. We've always had talent and produced good players and the target is to produce a group of players so can gel together in the next four years and become a good unit. I'm enjoying playing cricket at the moment and hopefully there is a few more runs left in the tank.
Will Jacks is the Player of the Series. Here's what he has to say: Real shame today obviously. I think we were going towards a good score and it was good fun out there. You've got to be a three-facet cricketer. My bowling is important, it has got me selected in squads in the past and I have to keep improving on it. (Batting with Phil Salt) He made it easy for me today, he got off to a flying start and I could settle in. That was a hell of a lot of fun. If we could have continued we could have done something crazy.
Time for the post-season presentation. Dawid Malan is adjudged the Men's ODI Player of the summer for his consistent performances throughout the season!
England 280/4 in 31 overs, (Game abandoned due to rain!) Ben Duckett 107*(78) | Craig Young 3/31 Philip Salt 61(28) | Theo van Woerkom 1/47
Right, it's a real shame that the game has been called off here otherwise we were on course to see the highest ever total in ODI cricket. England had put up some batting effort till the rains intervened and were going at more than 9 runs per over as they were 280/4 in 31 overs. Even 500 could have been a reality and England will be really disappointed at the game being called off. It won't effect the overall result though as they take the series by 1-0
The show was started off by the openers Phil Salt and Will Jacks who went hell for leather early on in the innings. He were merciless against anything that was bowled in their arcs and they put up 87 runs in just 7 overs. Phil Salt played a belligerent innings of 61 and Will Jacks gave him good company at the other end. Once the openers had been dismissed, Skipper Zak Crawley came into the middle and he was joined by Ben Duckett, his opening partner in Tests. The duo took their time early on and then went berserk. Crawley made a well crafted 50 while Duckett put on an incredible exhibition of stroke play as he got to his maiden ODI hundred.
The bowlers had a really tough time and they will be thanking their lucky stars that the game has been called off. Mark Adair was hammered for 20 runs of the very first over of the innings and the show continued from there on. Little, McCarthy, Dockrell, Campher and the debutant Theo van Woerkom were all taken to the cleaners. The only saving grace was Craig Young who took three wickets in his outstanding spell. He cleaned up Jacks and also got rid of Hain and Salt. The only other wicket was taken by van Woerkom, the debutant.
Update 19:55 IST, 3:25 local time: Here's something we never imagined to be typing this early - the match has been abandoned! It's raining once again and the ground is simply soaked with water. It was going to take a massive amount of time to get it fit for play and as a result, the umpires have taken a call. Beautiful rainbow in the background and it's quite a picture we must say. Not the kind we want to see when it has hampered a great game of cricket though. And as a result of this outcome, England take the 3-match series 1-0!
Update 19:23 IST, 2:52 local time: Dominic Cork reckons that this isn't really a passing shower and might take more than half an hour to recede. We're keeping our fingers crossed though and hopefully we can get some play in. The ground staff are having a tough time though with the covers flying around and it has resulted in some water on the pitch.
OH NO!! We have some unfortunate news from the middle. The rain has come down pouring here at Bristol and the ground staff have got the covers on. It's quite heavy at the moment and we can only hope that it recedes soon.
Jamie Smith, RHB, comes to the crease.
Hain was itching to up the ante and he ends up making the mistake in the process. The lengths have been impeccable from Young today and he couldn't get it over mid on. England have lost their fourth one now and it's the third one for Young. It's a timely one for Ireland.

30.6 Craig Young to Sam Hain, GONE! Hain perishes to the short ball! Steps out too early again as he transfers weight onto the front foot. Young digs it into that hard length as it rises on Hain, who swats it off the cue-end of the bat. Mid-on pouches a good catch by the edge of the circle and Young's sensational spell continues!
Sam Hain c Theo van Woerkom b Craig Young 17(18b, 0x4, 0x6)
30.5 Craig Young to Ben Duckett, slower short delivery outside the off stump. Well-directed and Duckett can only swat it just behind square on the leg-side for one
30.4 Craig Young to Ben Duckett, OH! Pace off and angling away in the channel on a good length. Duckett stays beside the line looking to steer it into the covers but he can't put bat to ball
30.3 Craig Young to Ben Duckett, pace off on a back of a length radar with plenty of width. Duckett waits and backs away but he cannot beat extra cover upon flat-batting it
First no ball of the innings and it's Young who is the culprit here. Can Duckett make the most of the free hit?
30.3 Craig Young to Sam Hain, full and angling into middle stump as Hain takes a leg stump guard. He works it to short mid-wicket where Balbirnie is in some pain after putting in a dive. It's a no ball as well!
30.2 Craig Young to Ben Duckett, length delivery that cramps him for room on middle and off stump. Duckett scythes it past the dive of point for a lone run into the deep
