It's been raining but not really where we are. We've got a bit of a breeze here, gentle really. When you hit into the wind, to the slightly longer side, to the leg-side from the end where I'm standing, slightly shorter with 60m on the off-side and just about 70m down the ground. We had one game, this was the game Namibia played Oman, tricky surface with the uneven bounce. If you bowl straight and bowl at the stumps, one or two will kept low and would do the trick. But, the groundsmen are working really hard, been sprinkling this pitch and it looks pretty good now.

Cricket's age old nemesis "rain" takes this game. Both the teams get a point each. However, being the underdogs on paper, Scotland would be the happier side of the two. Not just because they got a point out of this match, but rather because of the way they went about their business in the 10 overs of play that did happen. Both Munsey and Jones looked good. They played with some intent and put on a healthy partnership of 90 in 60 balls. England, on the other hand, were not able to get a wicket and would have perhaps been under pressure chasing down a tricky score in a shortened game against a less fancied opposition. The defending champions would want to be more assertive than that in the games going forward. Hopefully, the crowd gathered at the Kensington Oval had a good time. It seemed like the DJ kept them entertained. I hope we kept you entertained too. It is time for us - Darpan Tikiya and Pradeep - to sign off!
Richie Berrington (Scotland captain): Everyone's frustrated not being able to get a game there, we want to take positives with the guys went out to the middle. We had some time out there, certainly frustrating to not have a full game. Certainly would've given ourselves chance there, the wicket was interesting, the weather affected the pitch, it was uneven bounce through the day, if we had bowled well, fielded well, we could've given us a good chance of winning the game. (About Jones' selection up the order) It's a role he's done for us before, in the past as well, suits his game nicely and at the top of the order, it works for us and hopefully he'll continue to do that for us in the future. (About Munsey at the top of the order) Munsey's been in great form in recent times, good to see him strike the ball well. With Jones, they make a good combination. George against the spin has good options. (That six of a full toss) I'm not sure I could do that, he's got slightly different skills.
Jos Buttler (England captain): We're confident coming into the game, expected tough challenge, no easy games at all, we were confident but disappointment for everyone, especially the crowd. It was ok, couple of balls here and there, we should've tighten up but with the rain around, certain bowlers bowled out, I thought we scraped hard and would've fancied chasing it down. (About Wood's no-ball) No one means to make a mistake, we want to set the tone as best as we can. No one will be happy with no-balls, the balls kept falling away from the fielders, that's T20 cricket and that's the situation we find ourselves, hopefully we get a dry day in the next one and we can get really into the tournament. It was a tough call, extra pace of Wood and Archer together, we liked as a combination and we liked to playing the extra spinner as well, we got good options and selection was always going to be tough.

The official confirmation of the news we all expected has arrived. It is a bit of a shame because this match was set up nicely. England needed to go at almost 11 runs/over to chase the target down. Even with the explosive batting line up they boast off, it would not have been a cakewalk. Scotland would have believed that a good over or two would have tipped the scales in their favour. Unfortunately, it is not to be.
Meanwhile, in case you missed it, the six hit by Michael Jones off the bowling of Chris Jordan broke one of the solar panels at the stadium. ⬇️
It has gotten really heavy now. Even the most fervent optimists would not be gung-ho about a resumption.
Scotland players are out in the middle doing fielding drills. It is still raining and the covers are on.

The covers have been summoned again. The entire pitch and the square are concealed under the white sheets. The clouds are dark and the floodlights are on. This is looking grim.

It was an innings where the players had to adjust and pivot every other moment. We started off thinking that it was going to be a 20 over innings. However, rain played spoilsport and it was reduced to a 10 over affair. The problem was that 6.2 overs had already been bowled before the stoppage. That meant that England had already used up the overs of Wood and Archer according to the adjusted playing conditions.
Also, Scotland had played 6 overs of the powerplay. Whereas, England will get only 3 overs with the field restrictions. On the flip side, Munsey and Jones hadn't quite hit the top gear before the break.
Play resumed and England were forced to bowl 2.4 overs of spin. The Scottish batters did take 18 off Rashid's first over but he came back well to concede only 8 off the last.
The highlights of the innings were a wicket off a no-ball and the six by Jones that landed on the roof. Can England chase this down? Can Scotland cause an upset? We will find the answers soon.
