The pitch is looking fantastic. The groundsmen have saved the best for the last. It looks dry just like what was on offer in the last couple of games. There will be some turn but once the ball loses the hardness the ball might stop. The best time to bat is against the new ball. Brilliant atmosphere and brilliant pitch. I think we are in for a treat today.

So, that is it from myself, Karthik Raj and my co-commentator, Aryasekhar Chakraborty as we wrap up the proceedings of this LPL final. It has been a fantastic tournament to witness and Jaffna Kings have ended up as deserving champions. There is more cricketing action tomorrow with the MLC continuing tomorrow apart from various other matches. Till next time, it is a warm goodbye from us.
It's time for the players to pose for photographs with the winning trophy. The party will go on late in the day.
Charith Asalanka (Jaffna Kings captain): It's an amazing feeling. First time captained in LPL and lifting the trophy is a big thing. It's all about proffesional individual performances. I didn't have much to with the players. They recovered well and adjusted to the conditions quickly. It was an amazing performance from Rossouw and Mendis. I am speechless to say how they batted. Just one thing, I want to thank my fans who came in numbers to support us.
Charith Asalanka recieves the winning cheque.
The Jaffna Kings team will now recieve their medals.
Niroshan Dickwella (Galle Marvels captain): It was a great campaign throughout the 21 days. Today after losing the toss I didn't mind batting first but we didn't read the wicket. Bhanuka gave us a chance with that innings. The forty five minutes break meant that the dew came in and settled things down. In the field, out of the field we had a great campaign . I want to thank the coaching staff, the owners and all the fans who came to support us.
Niroshan Dickwella will now recieve his medal along with the runner up cheque.
The Galle Marvels players being handed their medals.
Rilee Rossouw is the Player of the Series: Not much to talk through. Played one ball at a time. Credit also goes to Kusal for playing a tremendous knock both today and in the previous match. People who knows me don't abuse me and the Bhanuka incident spurred all of us. It pushed me more in the zone and I am thankful it came off today. Winning a tournament is why we came here. Oh records are meant to be broken, I will see who breaks my record next year.
Chamindu Wickramasinghe is named as the Emerging Player of the Tournament.
Tim Seifert recieves the pink cap for scoring the highest number of runs in the tournament while Shadab Khan gets the red cap.
The match officials have been handed over their medals.
Rilee Rossouw has been adjudged the Player of the Match award.
It's time for the post match presentation ceremony with Roshan Abeysinghe.
Tabraiz Shamsi: (About Rilee Rossouw's knock) Not surprised to see him do that. We call him the 'Rocket' back home. The batting line-up has been superb throughout the tournament. (On Rossouw again) He loves the big moments.
Jason Behrendorff: Was good to get things right today and get the team off to a good start. (Decision to pick him or Shamsi) It was dependent on the conditions. Luckily, it worked out for us. It is my first time here in Sri Lanka. It has been unbelievable to play in front of 25K-plus fans. Hopefully, I can be here next year as well.
Fabian Allen: It was a fantastic win. Credit to the batting. The partnership one that those two put on was remarkable. I am a bowling all-rounder at the moment. But whatever the team asks me to do, I will look to put my hands up. The coach always said to back our strengths, that is what we did.
Jaffna Kings won by 9 wickets (with 26 deliveries to spare)
The Jaffna Kings have been crowned the LPL champions yet again. They have been by far the best team in the history of LPL and this is as resounding as it gets. Rilee Rossouw and Kusal Mendis stitching together a massive partnership. It turned out to be a relatively straightforward run chase for the the Jaffna Kings as they made light work of the relatively stuff target of 185 set by the Galle Marvels.
Rilee Rossouw and Kusal Mendis were absolutely sensational and didn't break a sweat un chasing this down with 26 deliveries to spare. The target of 185 was always going to be a tricky one and the pressure was very much on Jaffa after Parhum Nissanka departed off the very first over but Rossouw and Kusal Mendis took their game to a whole new level and remained unbeaten to take their side over the finish line.

Rossouw took charge right from the outset while Mendis gave him good support. They kept thrashing the opposition bowlers to all corners of the ground and took charge of the situation. Whatever the Galle Marvels bowlers threw at them were dispatched for boundaries. Boundaries kept flowing one after the other and it was an exhibition of stroke play from both the batters. Rossouw was at his destructive best and played the short deliveries with disdain.
Two quality players started expressing themselves. Mendis continued from where he left the other day and got a massive score in the powerplay itself. Dickwella had no one to turn to as each and every bowler were pummeled. Rossouw went onto complete a sensational century and eventually remained unbeaten on 106 off 53 deliveries which included 9 fours and 7 sixes. Meanwhile, Kusal Mendis also remained unbeaten on 72 off 40 deliveries which included 8 fours and a couple of sixes.
15.4 Dwaine Pretorius to Rilee Rossouw, JAFFNA KINGS WIN LPL 5!! Short of a length outside-off, Rossouw guides it behind point to help his side lift the title with so many balls to spare. What a dominant display from Jaffna who have won 4 out of the 5 LPL seasons till now.
15.4 Dwaine Pretorius to Rilee Rossouw, length delivery bowled outside the tramline, WIDE called.
