Commentary

A completely clinical performance from India A, as you'd expect. They were all over UAE from the first ball and have hardly any issues to iron out. They just need to make sure they don't get too complacent against Nepal. UAE A, on the other hand, had their moments but never really challenged Dhull's team and have a lot to work on. Yash Dhull (India A Captain and Player of the Match): It's a special knock for me. It was very important for the team because we lost a few wickets early. We just wanted to build the partnership. Clouds were coming and going early which was making it difficult to sight so we wanted to take our time. I play aggressively after getting set, try to put pressure on the bowler. If I don't, he'll put pressure for me. So it was the usual plan for me. A lot of positives for us. Every bowler bowled well, Harshit did well and Jose too, fielding was good as well. Akash Singh is fit, sir. It was just humidity (smiles).

Ashwanth Valthapa (UAE Captain) - We are about 50-60 runs short and India played well and outplayed us. I think where we were it's good to get 175 but we were 60 runs short. A few of the batters played well and few bowlers also bowled well. We have to fix our fielding, have to work on the line and lengths, and try to build partnerships in the next games

India A win by eight wickets and move to the top of the Group B table!

What a one-man show! After a complete team performance from the Indians with the ball, Dhull scored more than half of the runs in the second innings to seal the win. Openers Abhishek and Sudharsan set the pace by getting a few boundaries away in the first two overs but fell within 14 balls.

Jawadullah clean-bowled Sudharsan with a beauty that straightened and Abhishek, who was looking loose and playing away from the body, played on a short ball from Naseer. Dhull came out to join Jose, who was looking a bid fidgety despite hitting three boundaries and the duo shut shop for the rest of the powerplay.

After getting his eye in and adjusting to the bounce for three overs, Dhull started picking boundaries in every over. He showed clean footwork, coming out of the crease even against the pacers and making them bowl to his strong suit: short. He scored 86 runs off his 108 in boundaries and hogged most of the strike (even when he was at 95, he denied his partner a single) as Jose settled to second fiddle on the other end.

UAE showed some quality upfront but their spinners were just not up to the task against Dhull and Jose's experience. There are a lot of lessons for them while India will just want to carry the momentum forward.
