Until then, this is Dwaipayan Mukherjee, signing off with my hard-working and talented co-commentator, Rudransh.
The Big Bash action continues as we have the table toppers Brisbane Heat hosting the Hurricanes tomorrow. Join us for that one.
The Sixers only have 2 remaining fixtures - the Sydney Smash on January 12 before they take on the Perth Scorchers on the 16th of January. So, they will enjoy some down time till then, having done pretty well so far and not having done their qualification chances any harm.
The Stars will look for answers, particularly because their Net Run Rate is the worst amongst all teams. They will need to regroup in their week off as well because they do not play until next Saturday where they will face their cross-town rivals, the Renegades!
James Vince is the Player of the Match, here's what he has to say: It was good. The bowlers did a spectacular job in the second half. It wasn't the easiest of wickets but 150 was enough. It was the sort of the wicket where you couldn't let the run-rate climb a lot. Apart from the previous game against them, I'd like a few more runs in this competition. I didn't think I have been in too bat of a nick. You want to peak at the back end of the competition. Hopefully we have saved our best cricket. Murphy is a top class bowler. Great effort all around. Maybe Smudge can play in the middle order! Nah, it'll be great to have him back.
Sydney Sixers (160/3 in 18.5 overs) defeat Melbourne Stars (156/4) by 7 wickets
James Vince - 79 (57) | Daniel Hughes - 41 (32) Scott Boland - 2/38 | Beau Webster - 1/22
As Aaron Finch put it beautifully while on-air, the experience of winning titles comes through during tough chases like these in important parts of the season and that's exactly why Sixers have always found ways to get those 2 points more often than not.
It was never an easy chase with the ball spinning and lots of turn for the slow bowlers. But James Vince and Daniel Hughes proved why they are worth their weight in gold for this Sydney Sixers unit.
The Stars bowlers could not really restrict their opposition batters on a day when there was plenty on offer for them from the wicket. Apart from Imad Wasim who momentarily asked questions, there was hardly anyone else who put their hands up and that would be an area of worry for Maxwell and Co. as we head to the final stages of the tournament.
18.1 Joel Paris to Jordan Silk, EASY PEASY! Sixers start a turn around and Stars lose their first in five! Full on the pads, Silk flicks it off to deep square leg and it slowly reaches the boundary. Sixers complete a big, important win with seven wickets to spare!
Trust yourself to not be the only person to start believing as if only the final rites are left in this match as Sixers continue to do what they have done proficiently throughout the chase. 1 needed from the last 2 overs!

17.6 Beau Webster to Jordan Silk, length ball on the pads, comes down the ground to poke it behind him to level the scores!
17.5 Beau Webster to Jordan Silk, FOUR! JUST PAST A DIVING CARTWRIGHT! Short on the middle, goes hard at the pull and gets it slowly in the air but in the gap, Cartwright comes in and flies but it misses his hands
17.4 Beau Webster to Moises Henriques, length ball on the body, lets it come to him and tucks it to fine leg
17.3 Beau Webster to Moises Henriques, FOUR! Gets the boundary this time. Short ball on the middle, sits back and caresses the pull to deep square leg!
17.2 Beau Webster to Jordan Silk, OH! A lot happened there. Good length ball on the middle, Silk misses the pace of it and doesn't pull it, gets hit on the front pad and takes too much time to go to the other end but the direct his doesn't come.
17.2 Beau Webster to Jordan Silk, WIDE! Length ball on the middle, slides down the leg
17.1 Beau Webster to Moises Henriques, good length ball on the torso, Henriques looks to tuck it but gets an inside edge softly into him and takes a single
These are experienced finishers in the middle out there for the Sixers. Should be a stroll in the park as just 14 runs are needed from the last 18 balls with Silk and Henriques being regulars in these match situations.
Can the Stars put up a miracle? Never say never!

16.6 Scott Boland to Jordan Silk, full on the middle, Silk flicks it past the infield to deep square leg. He looks for the second again and gets it comfortably this time.
16.5 Scott Boland to Jordan Silk, short of length outside the off-stump, Silk moves back and cuts it just past a diving point. Cartwright's throw comes in sharply from the deep but Silk is too quick to not get what he wants.
16.4 Scott Boland to Jordan Silk, good length ball on the middle, punctures it to mid-wicket
