The dimensions are 69 metre straight hit and 68 to 61 metre to the square. Not much change. This is an used pitch. We are playing on the same hard pitch. I think there was some moisture in the initial overs yesterday. I don't see any wear and tear on the wicket. Another run feast on the cards. Important factor will be dew and it will be important in the captains decision in the toss. The spinners might not get any help from the surface. This should be a good contest.

Commentary

Cricket is game of millimetres and it was quite evident today. Another humdinger of a contest and the Delhi Capitals just manged to get past the Mumbai Indians. Two back to back games where the match shifted from one team to the other and this is a great thing for WPL. We will be back tomorrow yet again hoping for another close contest. Till the next time, this is myself (Arya Sekhar Chakraborty) signing off also on behalf of my fellow commentator and good mate Lavil Saldanha.

Niki Prasad is the Player of the Match: I think this is the first WPL game for me. I wanted to express myself and make DC win. I definitely visualised before the match and managed to carry this out. I think the situation we were in, singles would have gotten us home. I wanted to strike boundaries in between as well. I was motivated to give my best.

Meg Lanning is the Delhi Capitals captain, here is what she had to say: That was way too stressful. I thought we did an excellent job to restrict them to 164. They looked to score well in excess of 200 but we bowled really well. Shikha Pandey bowled brilliantly. We batted well in patches, thankfully could get up with a win. Minu did a great job as well. The other bowlers also bowled well to keep them to 164. Niki did an excellent job. She came at a tricky time, Radha Yadav coming and hitting that six.

Sarah Bryce (Delhi Capitals): The situation got to us, wanted to be positive and play the shots I wanted. It was an unbelievable game and crowd and one to be a part of. I think they got off to a great start and we pulled it back well. The bowlers did well to restrict them to get to a total we should change. India is such a great place to play cricket. I think I will be very lucky with the opportunities I had in the last couple of years, playing in the Hundred, WBBL and leagues around the world.

Harmanpreet Kaur (captain, Mumbai Indians): I think we weren't able to set a decent total. When Nat and I were batting, we thought that we would get in excess of 200 but we missed out on scoring on the last five deliveries. Ismail is someone who is a great bowler and she gives up the privilege of picking up wickets. Sajana has bowled for the team in the practice but our fielding let her down. Our target will be to bat the full 20 overs and have the batter play throughout. Sometimes these things happen but our batters need to take more responsibility in the next game

The Delhi Capitals just about managed to hold their nerves and have defeated the Mumbai Indians in the second match of the third season of the WPL but not before a lot of drama unfolded during the final stages of the match. Two questionable run out decisions from the TV umpire will be talked about for a while but in the end, it's the Delhi Capitals who came out with a win on the final delivery.

Such brilliant entertainment, a spare of thought for the Mumbai Indians who fought hard but fell in the final hurdle. The target of 165 looked under par at the halfway stage especially after what transpired yesterday when 200 was chased down comfortably in the end. It looked much the same when Shafali Verma started the innings off in style.

She smashed 22 runs off the second over of Saika Ishaque and looked in stupendous touch right from the outset. Meg Lanning looked scratchy at the other end but complemented the youngster pretty well. The duo shared a 60 run stand before a half tracker from Hayley Matthews brought an end to Shafali’s knock. Shabnim Ismail then castled Meg Lanning in the very next over.

From a very strong position, the Delhi Capitals were in a tricky situation. Jemimah Rodrigues and Annabel Sutherland departed early as they were reduced to 76/4. Alice Capsey and Niki Prasad shared an important stand but the impetus was lacking which eventually resulted in the departure of Capsey. Sarah Bryce then came in and changed the complexion of the game with some stunning shots and brought Delhi back in tuebgunt.

However her dismissal in the 18th over again turned the tide. It was Radha Yadav who struck a massive six of the penultimate delivery of the 19th over to bring the equation down to 10 off the final over. Niki Prasad then departed off the penultimate delivery of the match but Arundhati Reddy ensured she ran for her life and completed the two runs required for victory on the final delivery.

Buoy oh buoy, what a finish and at the end of it, we still not know whether Arundhati has made her crease. This is another close call and the Capitals might have just scraped through on the final delivery. You can expect from this TV umpire. She has already given a couple of debatable decisions. The TV umpire gives that Not Out and the Delhi Capitals win by 2 wickets in the final delivery. What an amazing game of cricket and entertainment was on display right till the end.

She fails a few paces when looking to come back for the second. But hang on, Yastika Bhatia whips the bails off thanks to a good throw. How good was it, lets see on the third umpire review.

Quoting Ian Smith, Arundhati Reddy manages to get her bat back by the barest of margins. She manages to slide her bat just in time and DELHI CAPITALS BEAT MUMBAI INDIANS BY TWO WICKETS!
