That's all from us for today. Hope you enjoyed our coverage. We have more action coming your way tomorrow with Rajasthan Royals taking on Mumbai Indians at Jaipur. Do join us for that. It's Bala and Pragadeesh signing off. Good night!
That was the last match of the season for Punjab Kings at Mullapur, and they have bowed out with a loss. They had some close games, but have been at the wrong side of the result more often than not. They find themselves at the 9th spot in the table. With just two wins from 8 games, they seem to be out of the playoff race for all practical purposes.
Gujarat Titans have moved up to the 6th spot in the table ahead of Mumbai Indians, though having played an extra game. They are among the three teams in the middle with 8 points in their kitty.
R Sai Kishore (Player of the Match): Just giving my hand to my team. I'm playing after 20-25 days, so it was just going out there, enjoying and giving everything for my team. Ashish Nehra created an excellent environment, encouraging us to play fearless cricket and give everything for the team. It enabled me to just go out there and enjoy myself. It was just instinctive, to bowl into the wicket and change of pace was the way. Rahul played an amazing knock, Rashid and Noor bowled really well, it was a total team effort. Like growing my hair, haven't done anything specific, it's just growing naturally.
Shubman Gill (Gujarat Titans captain): Would have liked to finish early, but good to get those two points. Exciting for me to take up this role. When I am out there, I just play as a better, don't think about the captaincy. (Livingstone) He was trying to rush me there. I would have made that decision any time to be honest.
Rahul Tewatia: I practice these situations in the nets. If we can perform in this role then what's better than it. We had the batting depth and that gave me the belief. There wasn't much turn for the spinners and that's why when Brar bowled, I targeted him
Sam Curran (Punjab Kings Captain): I think the effort with the ball is incredible. We showed good commitment but it wasn't meant to be again. Afghanistan spinners are incredible and Sai Kishore bowled really well. Credit to them and they deserved to win. It's a used wicket and anytime above 165 would've been good. We still bowled really well. We lost wickets in clusters in the powerplay. We can't lose many more games from here on and we know that. We should have a positive mindset
The Titans might have lost a couple of wickets more than they might have liked, but they never looked like being in stress at any stage during the run chase. They kept up with the required rate right through the innings and ensured that it did not go out of hand even when the wickets were falling.
After losing Wriddhiman Saha in the fourth over of the innings, Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan built up a solid partnership to ensure that they had a good foundation. Gill hit some gorgeous boundaries and looked in great touch against the pacers. Sudharsan was a bit slow in his innings, but it did not hurt with the kind of target they were up against.
Once they lost Gill, there were a flurry of wickets in the middle. Livingstone breathed hope into the Kings attack dismissing Gill and David Miller in quick succession. The only bit of worry that might have affected the Titans would have been when they lost Omarzai in the 16th over with still 40 runs to get. However, the right man for the situation was out in the middle for them. Rahul Tewatia ensured that there were no jitters in the end. Tewatia once again proved his worth hitting a quickfire 36* off just 17 deliveries at the death. His knock proved to be the knockout punch for the Kings, shattering any hopes they might have had going into the final overs.
The quality of the spin attack proved to be the difference between the sides in the end. Livingstone did well to provide a couple of breakthroughs, but Harpreet Brar could not find a wicket today. It was strange to see Harshal Patel held back. This was the kind of surface where he would have thrived. And he showed exactly that, picking up three wickets in his three overs. It was all a bit too little in the end. The kind of score that their batters put up in the first innings wasn't challenging enough to make a difference.
19.1 Arshdeep Singh to Rahul Tewatia, FOUR! Tewatia seals it and the Titans win by three wickets. Pitched up on a good length and it's drifting down leg, Tewatia accpets the gift and glances it behind square to finish things off in style
R Sai Kishore, LHB, is out in the middle. Arshdeep Singh [2.0-0-13-1] with the ball.
Another wicket falls, but it has come a bit too late for the Kings. It has been an excellent spell from Harshal Patel in his 100th IPL game though.

18.4 Harshal Patel to Rahul Tewatia, back of a length outside off, driven down to long-off for a single
18.3 Harshal Patel to Rahul Tewatia, off-pace delivery outside off-stump, Tewatia goes for the glory shot but doesn't make any contact. He tries to go inside out but the ball beats the outside edge
18.2 Harshal Patel to Rashid Khan, low full toss angling back, Rashid watchfully flicks it to deep square leg for one
Rashid Khan, RHB, walks out to the middle.
18.1 Harshal Patel to Shahrukh Khan, BOWLED! Low full toss and it's dipping low, Shahrukh can't bend low and gets underneath the ball. The ball moves back and makes things harder for him. He misses the flick and the ball clips Shahrukh's boots on it's way to hit the base of the middle stump
Shahrukh Khan b Harshal Patel 8 (4b, 0x4, 1x6)
Harshal Patel [2.0-0-11-1] will bowl the penultimate over.
