Pitch Report
Right in the middle of the square with 60 meters on either side while the straight hit is 70 meters long. The first thing that hits you is there's no grass and it might look dry. But it's even - it looks mosaic and broken, there are cracks but it's as hard as rock. It's not got extra moisture like the last game where there was a lot of movement. Lot of runs here but there is one eye upstairs. There hasn't been rain so far, just a little bit of drizzle.

Alright! This was one hell of a match. It lived up to the pre-match hype, and surely, it sent the RCB fans into a frenzy mode eventually. They had experienced many heartbreaks in IPL, and were set to experience another one when Dhoni sent the full toss out of the ground. But Yash Dayal kept his composure and turned out to be a hero for RCB in the end. They are doing a lap of honour to thank the crowd
CSK won't be defending their title but RCB can win that elusive silverware going by the current form. They maintain their red-hot winning streak, and it's just three more matches for them to do the unthinkable. It's time to end the coverage here as we all need more time to reset and recharge after witnessing an epic match like this. Until next time, this is myself (Pragadeesh) signing off on behalf of my fellow commentators, Shashwat Kumar and Soorya Sesha. Ciao, goodnight
Faf du Plessis (Player of the Match) - What a night it was unbelievable. It's great to finish this in front of our fans. Myself and Virat was talking about the score after the rain. There were a lot of rain falling on the pitch and I was having a chat with the umpires. Me and Virat were chatting to get through these phase. The contribution from many batters is the highlight of our batting line-up. (Asked whether he was thinking about 201 or 218) We were defending 175 (with smiles). We were thinking about 175. When MS was there, I was like " It shouldn't go in his way this time as he has done so many times. The last over that Dayal bowled was unbelievable and he equally deserves the Man of the match. So, I want to share this with him. I felt like the yorkers wasn't working so I told him to go back to your strengths, which is a slow ball. It's been amazing and I experienced an unbelievable atmosphere. I thank the fans and we are grateful for the RCB fans. We will soak the applause, celebrate and get back to work tomorrow. Our first goal before the start of the IPL is to qualify for the knockouts and we have done that.
Rachin Ravindra wins the Go 4-s of the match!
Virat Kohli wins the Super Sixes of the Match!
Faf du Plessis wins the Fantasy Player of the Match!
Cameron Green wins the Electric Striker of the Match!
Ruturaj Gaikwad (Chennai Super Kings captain): I think it was a good wicket to be honest. It was spinning and gripping a little bit but 200 was gettable on this ground. Just that we kept losing wickets at regular intervals. It was a matter of one or two hits and that can happen in a T20 game. To sum up the season for us, pretty happy with 7 wins out of 14. Couldn't get over the line off the last two balls but the kind of injuries we had, losing two key bowlers and not having Conway from the start - losing three key players is tough but credit to the whole staff and the CSK management for putting up a show for us. After the first two games there was an injury to Pathirana. Then Pathirana came back and was injured again, then we missed Fizz. When you have injuries it's hard to balance the squad for every game. This season we had to tinker around our squad considering injury and illness as well. Still 7 wins from 14 games we're happy. Couldn't get over the line but it can happen - we got 10 from the last two balls in the final last year. Pretty similar situation. Personal milestones really don't matter a lot to me. The ultimate goal is to win the ultimate prize. If you don't get there it's a lot of disappointment whether you score 100 or 200 runs or 500 or 600 runs. Personally yes I'm slightly disappointed as well.
RCB beat CSK by 27 runs
You can't ask for a better high-octane jaw-dropping contest than this! Look at the emotions of these RCB players. Fireworks all around Chinnaswamy as RCB became the fourth team to qualify for the playoffs. It was a heartbreak for CSK as they had the qualification under control but Yash Dayal took a new avatar and bowled a flurry of slow deliveries to break the heart of the CSK fans.
CSK started the run chase in a terrible fashion as Gaikwad fell in the first delivery before Mitchell's stay was short-lived. Despite losing two key wickets, Ravindra and Rahane found boundaries at regular intervals to keep the team in the run chase. The visitors ended the powerplay on a good note, but Ferguson's introduction resulted in a wicket instantly as he removed the well-set Rahane. Soon after, Dube struggled to even rotate the strike but Ravindra compensated for his partner's slow start by smashing the bowlers out of the park. When things looked good for Ravindra and CSK, there was a terrible mix-up and that resulted in southpaw's wicket. That also turned out to be a massive moment in the game
Dube couldn't make up for his slow start and RCB were in full control when Dhoni joined hands with Jadeja. The duo played for the qualification and with their calculated aggression in the middle, the hopes were suddenly back for the CSK fans. They took the game deep and with Dhoni's monstrous hit in the first ball of the final over, the men in yellow looked a heavy favourites to qualify for the playoffs but Yash Dayal not only dismissed Dhoni but also conceded just a solitary run in the final five deliveries
RCB QUALIFY FOR THE PLAYOFFS! CSK are knocked out of the tournament. What a final over this was from Yash Dayal. How did he kept his composure after being bludgeoned for a 110m six? Only he can answer. He conceded just a solitary run in the next five deliveries to send his team to the playoffs. It turned out to be a memorable night for RCB as they did it in front of their home fans

19.6 Yash Dayal to Ravindra Jadeja, RCB ARE THROUGH! Slower delivery dug into the track outside off. Jadeja has another fresh-air swipe and makes no contact whatsoever. RCB are over the moon. CSK all dejected. They will not defend their title, and RCB will now fancy their chances of going all the way!
IT'S ALL OVER FOR CSK! Jadeja looked stunned and so are the CSK fans at the stands
19.5 Yash Dayal to Ravindra Jadeja, SWING AND A MISS! RCB ARE ALMOST THROUGH! Slower ball hung up on a length outside off. Jadeja tries to hit it too hard and only swats away a few flies in the process. Seemed to be just inside the tramlines too
Jadeja's heroics in the last two deliveries won CSK the title in the epic final last year. Can he help CSK to qualify for the playoffs?
19.4 Yash Dayal to Shardul Thakur, EDGED AND A SINGLE! Slower ball on a length on middle and off. Shardul continues swinging like a rusty gate and the ball skews off the outside edge towards short third
Can Shardul go big or get Jadeja back on strike?
19.3 Yash Dayal to Shardul Thakur, slow and short outside off. Shardul has a wild swipe across the line and does so too early. Swings and misses
Shardul Thakur, RHB, walks in at no.9
More drama into this. It looked straightforward for CSK after Dhoni's humongous hit but it doesn't look so now
19.2 Yash Dayal to MS Dhoni, DHONI DEPARTS! Slower ball on a length on middle and leg. Right in the slot for Dhoni and he swings at it with all his might. Skews it off the top edge though and deep backward square leg does the rest. Dhoni cannot do the job for CSK this time!
