From the South End, the straight boundary is 68m and the square boundaries are 57m and 54m respectively. It looks a good pitch to bat on. It's the pitch on which the first match was played when we got here in Bengaluru. It's pretty dry, quite hard, but the fuller length is grassy. That is all from the action here then with GG getting a much needed win which makes it a crowded logjam in the middle of the points table. RCB now have a hat-trick of losses at their home, they will have one more chance to please their fans day after but tomorrow it will be the clash of the top-2 as table-toppers Mumbai Indians take on Delhi Capitals. Ashleigh Gardner, skipper of Gujarat Giants has been named as the Player of the Match, here are her words: "Over the last couple of games we have not batted as would have liked to but credit goes to the bowlers, particularly TK (Tanuja), Kashwee and it is nice to chase such a low score, you can get into your innings and play your shots. We should have won the firs game but that is cricket, people can outplay you. We quietened the crowd, that's what people want to do when they get here. It is the trend of WPL at the moment (chasing). It is nice to not have a lot of dew. The wickets has shown it has had quite a lot in it. In the game against Delhi Capitals, it was a green wicket and it moved around a lot. Today was really flat, it has been different every time and now we are off to Lucknow. I have never played in Lucknow, don't know what to expect there. We spoke about getting better with the bat, we just lost one in the powerplay even though we were not going at tens. We lost four in the powerplay earlier, hard to come back from that. Pleased to see the batters go about their job. Bowlers are doing a fantastic job, we want to keep putting points on the board."

Phoebe Litchfield (Gujarat Giants): We came here with an air of positive vibes. We were pretty average in our last two games and so, needed to turn it around. Our opening bowlers bowled really well and we caught well too to apply the initial pressure. Ashleigh Gardner stepped out and put the pressure right back on them with that big over and then, we had to just knock it around and build partnerships. Ashleigh dropped that catch because it was right in the lights, but then came that throw to the stumps which worked beautifully! In the first game against RCB we needed to get hold of a couple of catches to get the win, but if we keep up like this, we should win more.

Smriti Mandhana (Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain): I don't think we batted well in the power play. We tried a bit too hard up front and messed it up. It was a different kind of a wicket. From the time we've come here, we played some really good cricket but ended up losing. Today though, we were outplayed in all three departments. But we have to lift ourselves up now. We all have to step up and come back stronger. Kanika Ahuga and Raghvi have been pretty impressive! They got us to where we ended up being. But we all will need to start contributing.

No final flourish for Dottin but Gujarat Giants get their sweet revenge on RCB and register their second win of the season as they brush aside the (lack of) challenge posed by the home team, RCB, who have now lost three on the trot at home completing an unwanted hat-trick. Well, can you really call it home advantage?

If it was RCB who tumbled them over in Baroda, GG have done one better and have completely dominated the hosts. Also with that, the trend of chasing teams winning continues this WPL and now 11 out of 12 matches have been won by the sides chasing so far in this season.

126 was never going to be a challenge at Chinnaswamy and in the end Giants got home at a canter with three and a half overs to spare. It was a cautious start in the powerplay with Mooney and Hemalatha trying to get their acts together. Renuka dismissed both of them in the 5th and 7th over respectively as she bowled four on the trot with RCB on the hunt for wickets.

The score was 42/2 at the end of 8 overs and it did look like we could get close. But then came the release over, Gardner smoked the young leggie Prema Rawat for 19 in an over and it would be fair to say that the back of the chase was broken right there.

She lost Harleen in the next over but the Giants skipper went on to play some magnificent shots as she so often does and raced away to her third fifty of the season before getting out right at the backend and eventually it was a cruise home for the Giants with Litchfield getting a nice unbeaten 30 to her name.

No movement in the points table though, RCB and GG remain on third and fifth position respectively but GG have caught up with numbers four and three in terms of points with the same number of matches played. 4 points in 5 games for the bottom three teams, RCB, UPW and GG, only the net run-rate separates them with the things heating up now in WPL.
