Gujarat Giants Womens Squad - Players to Watch out
Here are the cricketers to watch out for in the upcoming 2023 WPL for the GG-W:
#1. Beth Mooney
She can adapt, she can score, she can keep, she is one to have! Beth Mooney is a player with remarkable talent as her recent performances have helped her not only move up the ranks but solidify herself as a batter with great flexibility in batting position. Her strike-rate of 124 suggests she’s a quick run getter and well, she has proved that on the big stage like the ICC WT20 Final and even in consecutive finals of WBBL. Also a wicketkeeper, she has been handling the responsibility behind the stumps for a long time. These qualities make her someone to look out for in every encounter with the Giants.
#2. Ashleigh Gardener
This Australian all-rounder is the perfect fit for any XI as her skills in both the departments will be an add on in mostly every match she plays. She can give you those 4 overs with the ball and strike some meaty blows at a rate which will surely topple the opposition. With close to 1200 runs at a strike-rate of 132 to be clubbed with 52 wickets in the T20Is, Ash Gardener makes a strong case for herself when she presents herself as a strong competitor in front of the rival.
#3. Sneh Rana
Sneh, the bowling all-rounder from India is an exciting package to have for the Gujarat franchise. Having the experience of playing all three formats internationally, she is a vital asset to the team. An offbreak bowler, Sneh has 24 wickets to her name at a pretty good economy of 6.21. Not to forget, she holds a knock of 80* in Tests, which showcases her skillset as a batter. This combination of batting on top of the flavourful offbreaks can be good enough to rattle the team labeled as opponent.
#4. Deandra Dottin
Hailing from the West Indies, this woman right here is the ultimate definition of destruction. Her choice of weapon here is the bat with which she excels in clearing the ball through a long distance. Dottin literally revolutionized the rate of scoring runs and introduced power from her arsenal. She holds the record of notching up the fastest T20I ton in women’s cricket which came in only 38 balls in 2010. Her consistent scores in big tournaments are a certificate of her caliber to deliver when it matters the most. For the Giants, Deandra can be a serious game changer and is capable of turning the game on its head within a matter of few deliveries.
