In spite of a fairly decent start, the Kangaroos were never really in the hunt. Some of their batters took a bit too long to get going, didn't quite show the intent required to go about in a T10 game, and the Kangaroos then proceeded to lose wickets in a heap in those middle overs. 14 came off the first over, but they lost Matty Ainsworth in it as well.

The second over from Basharat spelled further trouble for the Kangaroos - Arslan Basharat proved to be too tricky to put away. Harsh Mandhyan and Muhammad Saqlain did enough to choke the runs down and turn the tide towards the Tigers for good going into the halfway mark of the chase. It was a matter of whether the Kangaroos would bat out the 10 overs - the bonus point was out the equation as well eventually.
