Aiden Markram (South Africa captain): I though we bowled really well. Some really good plans, the bowlers executed really well. From a batting point of view, you want to take it on and break the back of the chase early but that did not happen today. But we definitely want to keep the same brand of cricket going. I'm fine (on his blow to the grill and the hit to the finger). It was brilliant, they are coming in after a break (Stubbs and Coetzee), nice to see the fire in their bellies. Similane and Peter played crucial roles for us as well. We will need to take it one game at a time, good to level the series.

Suryakumar Yadav [India captain]: You always have to back whatever total you have get, just said the same, don't think too much and just go out there and enjoy. In a T20 game, you don't want to finish on 125 and go out there to defend. But, proud of my boys who gave themselves a chance. In a T20 game, someone getting a fifer, defending 125, it's a credible achievement, he's been working hard on his bowling, tries to make the difference whenever he bowls, I'm sure he enjoyed his outing. Two games to go, lot of entertainment left, going into Jo'burg will be lots of fun.

Tristan Stubbs is the Player of the Match! Here's what he has to say: Fortunate that the run-rate never got away from us, once we lost wickets and Gee came on played that blinder, fortunately got over the line. He walked in, he said straight away, we can win this. We were always two hits away, with the crowd behind us, we thought we could it. I as just trying o breach, it's my mom's birthday. All my mates are in the crowd, my favourite place to play cricket, I was nervous, tried control my breathing. It's awesome taking into the series, 1-1 now with two matches to go.

South Africa huffed and puffed on their way to the target of 125 but they eventually got there with an entire over to spare courtesy a sensible knock from Stubbs right out of the top drawer and a blitz from Coetzee in the end.

125 was made to look way too many by South Africa as Varun Chakaravarty weaved his magic around the middle order of the Proteas with joint-best figures of 5/17 for India in T20Is.

South Africa lost Rickelton in the third over to Arshdeep after a decent start and skipper Markram went in the powerplay too. The tactics were strange from the Proteas in the middle overs when the spinners came on to bowl. A strange promotion for Jansen upto 5 pushing Klassen and Miller down and all of that almost cost them in the end as Varun ran through them with his googlies. Bishnoi was a good ally for him as well and he kept things tight along with a wicket.

But then out walked Gerald Coetzee at 86/7 and completely flipped the script. He injected some much needed impetus into the innings and took the seamers to the cleaners towards the end when things were getting tight. Stubbs, who had stood his ground firmly with wickets falling all around him, then took a leaf out of Coetzee's book and joined in on the act and took his side home with an entire over to spare.
