Commentary

So, that is it from myself, Karthik Raj and my co-commentator, Pratyush. Do stay tuned to Sportskeeda as there is a lot of cricketing action coming up tomorrow with Australia taking on New Zealand in the Women's World Cup while there are a couple of interesting Test matches going on too. India are in a dominant position against Sri Lanka at Bengaluru while Pakistan were dominated by Australia on Day 1 of the second Test at Karachi. Joe Root, England captain: Really proud of the team. The character we showed, to not panic, brilliant knock from Jonny. Throughout the match, we got better and better. Leach was great, taking wickets today, I can't fault anyone. On that sort of wicket, extra pace and reverse is what you want, but you can't blame Mark. We have to assess how he is when we go to Barbados. Jonny showed great maturity, Zak showed great character. I am expecting another brilliant Test match. The support we've had, it's so good to see the English fans enjoying.

Kraigg Brathwaite, West Indies captain: Yeah hard-fought draw. All the five days. We were good with the new ball. Through the middle, we need to be tighter. (On Nkrumah Bonner) He is even better than me to be honest. Really showed his worth today. He has got a special mindset and set an example for us to follow. Barbados, the First-class game, there was a lot more bounce when we played. Hopefully, it has something more for the pacers than this pitch. The spinners can definitely in terms of being discipline and economy rate. Once they become tighter, there will be a lot more pressure to capitalize on!

Nkrumah Bonner is the Player of the Match. Here's what he has to say:

"I like to bat at this venue. I think it's a very good wicket. We obviously wanted to win but we're happy with the job. I always wanted to play Test cricket. Need the discipline to bat long. I think I am very versatile, depending on situation. We showed real character with the way we bowled this morning and throughout the game in general. The bowlers were good throughout, especially Roach in the first innings. We've got a lot of positives to take from this game.

End of a hard-fought draw although England didn't seem like getting a wicket in the final hour of the match. The most interesting thing here was that England really believed they could get six wickets off six balls and only shook hands when there were just five balls remaining in the match!

The teams came into the final session with West Indies requiring 221 runs while England needed seen wickets from 38 overs. The hosts got off to a bad start post-Tea as Jermaine Blackwood missed an attempted slog to be adjudged LBW off Jack Leach's bowling very early on. Jason Holder came in and batted solidly with Joe Root bowling Leach with a seamer in tandem.

Holder was pretty lucky to survive an LBW appeal off the final delivery in the 49th over bowled by Leach. The ball-tracking showed three reds but England opted to not review it. The lanky all-rounder probably got another piece of fortune when England went up for a caught-behind appeal off Leach in the 53rd over. Ultra-Edge showed a flat line but the slo-mo replays reflected a deflection. England continued to toil away with Joe Root using a number of options including Dan Lawrence but Nkrumah Bonner and Jason Holder batted sensibly to deny the visitors.

With the game seemingly out of reach, England and Joe Root's decision to bowl Ben Stokes for a 41st over did raise some eyebrows. Apart from that, both teams gave their everything and left it all out on the field!
