The former professional boxer and promoter, Mayweather, has held multiple titles in multiple classes in his days as an active professional boxing competitor. Floyd Mayweather Jr. entered the world of professional boxing on October 11, 1996, against Roberto Apodaca in a four-round boxing bout. Mayweather shut Apodaca’s lights off in the second round to win the fight by TKO and kick off his career with a win. He never looked back after his inaugural professional bout and went on a historic run of 50 professional fights, retiring from the sport in 2017 with a great record.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is set to return to the squared circle against John Gotti III in an exhibition boxing bout scheduled to be held on August 24, 2024, at CDMX Arena, in Mexico City, Mexico. The duo will run it back this time in a rematch of an earlier fight when they took on each other in 2023 but the referee had to stop the fight due to outside interference.
