Islam Makhachev vs. Renato Moicano is an upcoming mixed martial arts event organized and produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship on January 18, 2025, at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, United States. Earlier, Makhachev was supposed to defend his UFC lightweight gold against the No.1-ranked contender Arman Tsarukyan for the main event at UFC 311. However, Tsarukyan pulled out from the fight due to a back injury and was replaced by the No.10 ranked Brazilian fighter Renato Moicano. Adding on, Moicano was already set to face Beneil Dariush for the main card at UFC 311, and due to the short notice shuffle, the bout with Dariush got canceled.

The 33-year-old UFC lightweight champion is coming off a brabo choke submission win in his last fight against the former interim lightweight champion, Dustin Poirier in June 2024. Whereas, Moicano is coming off a TKO(doctor's stoppage) win in his last fight against Benoit Saint-Denis in his last showdown at UFC Fight Night: Moicano vs. Saint-Denis in September 2024. Moreover, the No.10 ranked lightweight contender has been on momentum with a four-fight win streak.
