Jimmy "The Brute" Crute, born on March 4, 1996 in Singleton, New South Wales, Australia, is a mixed martial artist competing in the 205 lbs (Light Heavyweight) weight division in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). At UFC 261 in April 2021, Crute fought Anthony Smith and received a nasty leg injury when a well-placed kick landed at the posterior of his knee. The strike caused immediate nerve damage, leading to a condition known as "foot drop," where he lost control over his foot movement. This led the ringside doctor to intervene and stop the bout, resulting in a first-round stoppage.

Following this bout, Crute continued to experience issues with his knee. In February 2022, he announced that he would undergo knee reconstruction surgery due to accumulated damage over several fights.
