At the age of nine, Daniel Dubois was introduced to the boxing gym by his father in an effort to keep him away from trouble in the South London area. He currently undergoes training at the Peacock Gym in Canning Town, where he is coached by Tony and Martin Bowers. During his amateur career, Dubois engaged in approximately 75 bouts, securing impressive achievements. This includes winning two English schoolboy titles, two junior ABAs, and the CYPs.He also emerged victorious in the British Seniors category.

Furthermore, Dubois spent a year and a half as part of the GB Elite setup in Sheffield and represented England in approximately a dozen matches. He participated in the European Youth championships twice and achieved gold medals at multi-nation tournaments in Tammer (Finland) and Brandenburg (Germany).

Despite having only a few senior amateur bouts, Dubois was initially part of the Great Britain Olympic team with aspirations to compete in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. However, he ultimately made the decision to transition to professional boxing, signing with renowned boxing promoter Frank Warren of Queensberry Promotions.
