It’s time for Lost Ark’s New Year's event, Illios Island, to kick off again! Available for a limited time at the start of the year, it will be home to fun quests, exclusive loot, and so much more. These events are often fun ways to catch up on characters, get some easy exp, and perhaps even some equipment and some fun, holiday-themed cosmetics. However, as with all events of this type, it’s only going to be available for a limited time.
There are lots of great reasons to jump into Smilegate’s Lost Ark, and Illios Island is just one of those. If you’re looking to shake up your Action RPG gameplay, why not take a peek at the game when the New Year’s event kicks off?
Note: This article will be updated when more information about this year’s event is available — after January 1, 2025.
What’s taking place during the Illios Island event in Lost Ark
Illios Island kicks off in Lost Ark on January 1, 2024. Unfortunately, the game’s website hasn't provided an end date for the limited-time event, but going off of the previous year, it’ll likely last for about two weeks. Previous events ended around January 10, 2024, so it'll likely end around that time.

The event itself takes place on Illios Island, a gorgeous place filled with gorgeous sights — whether you want to see the crystal shores or ancient caverns. It has an aesthetic unique to itself, making it stand out from the rest of the map. Even if there’s nothing for you here — in regards to upgrades or items — it’s a visually stunning portion of the map, and worth exploring for that alone.
However, there will be a Special Co-Op Quest that begins on January 1, 2025. This quest will trigger every two hours, and players can complete it multiple times if they have more than one friend they’d like to do it with. However, you can only claim the rewards once per roster, so make it count.

There will also be Exclusive Rewards as a part of the Lost Ark Illios Island event, so those should be worth chasing. Whether alone or with friends, there should be plenty to see and do on Illios Island.
Unfortunately, Smilegate hasn't teased much more than this, so we don’t know if it will be the same event players have witnessed over the last few years. Nevertheless, pick your favorite class and get ready to dive into a limited-time event on Arkesia.
