Erik Jones

Erik Jones went on to become the buzz all over the NASCAR community after he won the championship title of the 2015 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. He proved not only that he was a young talent but also that he could deliver consistency as well. Even with his rapid ascents up the ranks, Erik Jones created more fan attraction, especially after winning his first win in the NASCAR Cup Series races in 2018's Coke Zero Sugar 400. Jones is still one of the powerhouses in NASCAR Cup Series racing. Racing for Legacy Motor Club as of 2024, he has wowed everyone on the team with his greatness as a driver. As for the 2023 season's NASCAR Cup Series, Jones came out ranking 16th in the Drivers' Championship, with which he has proved consistently strong despite stiff competition from other drivers. Jones stands out very well in the sport.

He was born on May 30, 1996, in Byron, Michigan. He was involved in local short-track racing before moving to the top levels of racing like ARCA, Camping World Truck Series, and Xfinity Series. Some of his notable achievements are being the first youngest driver to win the Snowball Derby back in 2012-a record he broke when still so young in his career. Later, Jones would then carve himself a niche when with Joe Gibbs Racing before joining Legacy Motor Club. In addition to the success Erik Jones gained on track, he never let go of his roots. His family was a huge factor in his early racing career, and he pays tribute to his late father, Dave Jones, who so greatly played a part in helping to mold Erik into who he is today within the world of motorsports. When off the track, Jones loves cars and restores old ones in his free time.

Erik Jones Wins

As of the 2024 season for the NASCAR Cup Series, he is sitting at the 30th position and holds 418 points. Not a cakewalk, but he's fought, going in 27 races with 1 Top-10 finish. While encountering some issues in running into a couple of 2 DNFs, his average start was 27.3, and his average finish was 22.9. It hasn't quite worked out for Jones, who hasn't won, finished in the Top 5, or even taken a pole this season, and hasn't led a lap yet in 2024.

After a truck series breakthrough and his first-ever victory on November 8, 2013, at Phoenix International Raceway in just his fifth truck start, the next year Jones continued his winning ways by sweeping the triple-header CRA Super Late Model events at Berlin Speedway, Anderson Speedway, and the prestigious Winchester 400, sending his name up in lights as yet another talented light in the motor sport parade.

Erik Jones Xfinity Series wins

Erik Jones scored his first Xfinity Series win at Texas in April 2015, leading from the pole for a total of 79 laps. He scored two more wins that year, plus 11 Top-5 and 20 Top-10s, to solidify his top-shelf presence in this series.

Jones joined Joe Gibbs Racing's Xfinity lineup in 2016, further running his winning streak with four victories, 15 Top-5s, and 20 Top-10s. He finished the season well to be awarded the 2016 Sunoco Rookie of the Year. He returned in 2017 to score three more wins in the Xfinity Series while juggling his first full season in the NASCAR Cup Series.

Erik Jones Cup Series wins

Erik Jones won his first NASCAR Cup Series race on July 7, 2018, for team Joe Gibbs Racing at the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway. The 2020 season started strong for Erik as he showed speed with his domination of the crown jewel Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway. He continued the momentum in the 2020 Busch Clash, one of the most storied non-points events in the sport.

In 2021, Jones made a big splash by joining Richard Petty Motorsports (now Legacy Motor Club), registering yet another gigantic win in his career. The year 2022 saw him secure his second Southern 500. In the 2023 season, the team switched to Legacy Motor Club as former 7-time Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson became a partial owner. Currently, Jones drives for Legacy MC, crewing alongside fellow teammates John Hunter Nemechek and co-owner Jimmie Johnson.
