Kyle Larson Daughter
Kyle and Katelyn Larson’s second child and their only daughter is Audrey Layne Larson. She was born in May 2018, just some months before their marriage. She suffers from a medical condition known as Alopecia. According to her mother, Audrey started losing hair ever since she turned 18 months old. It wasn’t until 2022, that Katelyn Larson revealed this situation to the world. She said that Audrey had been suffering from these symptoms, but the doctors had held off a proper diagnosis.
In an interview with TobyChristie.com he said, “In the beginning, it was just little pieces that I could cover, and it was no big deal. The last time she had lost her hair, it was a significant amount. It was those pictures I had posted.”
Audrey started wearing hats and accessories that covered her hair to stop people from drawing the wrong conclusions. The Larsons were pretty confused as to what could cause their daughter to lose hair from such a young age. The doctors suggested that it could be due to stress. Audrey is said to have a lot of allergies and aversion to dairy products, but the Larsons have remained strong about her conditions and her recovery.
They even launched a T-shirt to spread awareness about Alopecia and their interview coincided with Alopecia Awareness Month. The money from these clothes shall be donated to National Alopecia Areata Foundation.

What is Alopecia?
Alopecia is said to be an auto-immune disease which affects the hair on any part of the body, including the scalp. It can occur due to a variety of reasons but mostly, heredity, medications, hormonal changes and natural aging cause Alopecia. It is more common in males. It is said that in Alopecia Areata the autoimmune system mistakenly attacks hair follicles. Hair follicles are the structure that form hair.
Alopecia occurs in various stages and it usually starts from a single oval spot on the head. When a bare patch develops, the hair usually regrows in a few months but it can be grayish. Later on, more bare patches develop alongside each other while one of them is regrowing. This phenomenon can lead to Alopecia totalis, which causes hair loss from the entire scalp and later on, from the entire body.
In Audrey Larson’s case, she started losing hair right from a very young age and her parents thought that it could be due to flu shots and vaccinations she received. Katelyn Larson explained that her hair looked like she was going to chemotherapy and she wanted to protect her daughter from any negative consequences.
