The NASCAR All-Star Open is the second non-championship event in the NASCAR Cup Series. The race is an exhibition event that invites previous champions and race winners to compete. This race does not affect the championship and is an invite-only event. The All-Star Race invites previous winners of the race, winners of the ongoing Cup Series season, and the NASCAR champions to compete in the greatest showdown of NASCAR talent. The race also involves a special qualifying system known as the NASCAR All-Star Open Race. The All-Star Open allows the drivers who have not already qualified for the race to join the main event if they win the All-Star Open. There are also fan votes which allow the most voted driver to join the race through nominations.
