Dynasty Fantasy Football QB buys: 3 candidates to go all-in for in 2024 feat. Trevor Lawrence

As the summer months heat up, so does our thirst for football. While re-draft leagues may be a few months away, dynasty leagues never have downtime. Right now, you should evaluate your roster to see where you can improve before the hype of training camp begins.

I’ll go position by position with my buy-and-sell candidates for your dynasty rosters, starting with the quarterbacks.

1] Dak Prescott (DAL)

Currently playing out the final year of his contract, Dak’s future in Dallas might seem uncertain. I don’t buy it for one second. He’s going to get paid and paid very handsomely. What you’re trying to do is buy on the dip. At age 31 this year, he still has several high-end seasons left. People are lukewarm on Prescott after a disappointing playoff run and his team doing nothing in the offseason. That’s where it gets good for the Lone Star State QB. Head Coach Mike McCarthy is in the final year of his contract. He’s also the team's play caller. What do you think McCarthy is going to do to save his job? That’s right, allow Dak to drop back and sling it all over the field.

Looking at redraft ADP, you can see how the markets feel about a player. Prescott on Underdog Fantasy is an 8th-round pick. He’s the 9th quarterback off the board, and that’s a joke. Prescott finished last season as QB 3 in fantasy points on the season. Strike while the iron is hot and go acquire Prescott while people think he might be on his last legs in Dallas. You’ll laugh all the way to the bank as he drops another 30-plus touchdown season for the third time in four years.

2] Trevor Lawrence (JAX)

The newly-paid Lawrence has underwhelmed for fantasy by most accounts. In 2023, he finished as QB 12 in total points. That followed a QB 7 finish in 2022. What we don’t see from Lawrence are these massive spike weeks. His 16.6 PPG average over the last two seasons isn’t elite by any stretch. So why buy?

He’s young, durable, and locked into a good situation for years to come. He’s tied to a very good play-caller in Doug Pederson. The team has invested year over year in pass catchers. Finally, he’s cheap. Other owners don’t see Lawrence as a top-end talent, so use that to your advantage. In best ball drafts, he’s coming off the board at quarterback 15. For the next five years I’ll bet that he outproduces that with ease. Get Lawrence on the cheap today.

3] Kyler Murray (ARI)

My favorite buy on the QB market is the diminutive man in the desert. Coming off an injury last season, Murray was spectacular. In eight starts, he averaged nearly 250 yards passing per game and showed off his legs with at least five attempts in seven contests. Another year removed from injury and still only 27 years old, Murray is set to regain his place as one of the best fantasy quarterbacks in the game. This season, it’s prime time to buy on Murray.

Need more proof? Why not look at the investment in talent around him? Arizona spent a top 10 pick on the best receiver in the class, Marvin Harrison Jr. Teamed with ascending tight end Trey McBride, you’ve got an elite 1-2 punch in Arizona. This Drew Petzing-coached offense is ready to explode with fantasy points. Get on board with Murray as the cheapest dual-threat QB on the market with the highest upside.
