Baltimore Ravens Bio

The Baltimore Ravens are an NFL franchise that competes in the AFC North Division of the National Football League. The Ravens are one of the youngest NFL franchises, having been established in 1996. The Ravens were established by former Cleveland Browns owner Art Modell. He planned on relocating the franchise to Maryland in 1995, but faced criticism from fans. Thus, he established the Baltimore Ravens in 1996 with the entire roster of the Cleveland Browns. Since being established in 1996, the Ravens have been a successful team, with two Super Bowl wins and two Conference Championships.
The Baltimore Ravens have been owned by Steve Bisciotti since 2004. The franchise is valued at approximately $5 billion as per Forbes' calculation in August 2024. Donning their purple and gold jerseys, the Ravens have historically been appreciated for their defense. Under players like Ray Lewis and Ed Reed, the Ravens were feared for their ferocious defense throughout the 2000s and early 2010s. As of May 2025, the Ravens are spearheaded by the dynamic two-time NFL MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Baltimore Ravens Roster 2025-26
The Ravens are bringing back most of their band on offense from last season, with the addition of wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, who, even in the twilight of his career, will help Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman get more open. Baltimore waited until the 2025 NFL draft to weave its magic on the defensive side of the ball. They let the draft fall to them and grabbed two surefire starters in safety Malaki Starks and edge Mike Green, who fell to the end of the second round due to some off-field concerns, per CBS Sports.
Baltimore Ravens Owner

Steve Bisciotti is the owner of the Baltimore Ravens, and he was born in 1960. He earned a liberal arts degree from Salisbury State University. His entrepreneurial drive was awakened in 1983 when he, along with his cousin, co-founded Aerotek, a staffing firm focused on aerospace and technology.
The speedy growth of Aerotek resulted in the company growing into Allegis Group, the largest privately held staffing firm in the world as of May 2025. Steve Bisciotti purchased a 49% share in the Ravens in 2000 and became the controlling owner in 2004. Bisciotti has a net worth of $7.5 billion as of May 2025, as per Forbes' evaluation.
Baltimore Ravens Head Coach

John Harbaugh, the Baltimore Ravens head coach, is the second-longest tenured active head coach in the NFL behind Mike Tomlin, as of May 2025 (via the NFL's official website). Since being appointed as the HC in 2008, John has led the Ravens to 15 winning seasons in seventeen years. The elder Harbaugh brother has led Baltimore to 6 divisional titles and 1 Super Bowl victory as of May 2025. The 2019 AP NFL Coach of the Year has accumulated a record of 172-104 in 276 regular-season games he has coached. John also has a winning record in postseason (13-11) as of 2025. Harbaugh has also etched his name into the NFL history books by winning the most road playoff games (8). According to the NFL's official website, the Ravens extended John Harbaugh for three more years in March 2025, which would keep him in Baltimore through the 2028 season.
John comes from a family infused with football heritage. His father, Jack Harbaugh, coached at the collegiate level for more than 4 decades. His younger brother Jim Harbaugh is the Los Angeles Chargers head coach as of 2025, and his first head coaching stint in the NFL came with the San Francisco 49ers. Jim and John Harbaugh are the first pair of brothers in NFL history to serve as head coaches.
Baltimore Ravens Quarterback

The two-time NFL MVP has made Baltimore a perennial Super Bowl contender since he first took the field donning Purple and Black back in his rookie season in 2018. Ravens have not missed the postseason since No.8 took over the starting duties under center, except the 2021 season, where Lamar missed almost 1/3rd of the season due to an injury. The former Heisman Trophy winner has shattered various individual records and earned many personal hardware in his 7-year pro career. The only blemish in the Ravens' dual-threat quarterback's spectacular career is a lack of playoff success, as evident by his 3-5-0 record in the postseason.
Baltimore Ravens Mascot

Poe is the Ravens' mascot as of 2025. He is named after the famous writer Edgar Allan Poe, who was a Baltimore resident. When the team first introduced the mascot, they had three raven-costumed mascots and were supposedly brothers. The first one was named Edgar, the second was named Allan, and the third was Poe.
According to the back story, Edgar, who was the tall and broad-shouldered raven, represented the players such as linebackers, defensive backs, quarterbacks, etc. Allan, the middle one, shortest and thinnest of the three, but also the fastest, represented receivers and running backs. Poe, who was short and stout, represented the linemen of a football team. However, post-2008 season, Poe became the only costumed mascot on the team, following the retirement of both Edgar and Allan.
