First Super Bowl

Super Bowl I date was on January 15, 1967, and was played at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles, California between the Green Bay Packers and the Kansas City Chiefs. The first Super Bowl date was decided after the 1967 merger between the AFL-NFL merger.

This game was simulcast by both networks as CBS covered NFL games and NBC covered AFL games.

The first-ever halftime show was a performance by Al Hirt who was an American trumpeter and bandleader. There were performances from marching bands from the University of Arizona and Grambling College as well.
