The Green Bay Packers have a losing record (3-4) and are in second place in the NFC North division almost midway through the season. They sit behind the Minnesota Vikings, who are 5-1, and are on pace to have their worst season since head coach Matt LaFleur took over in 2019.

Since the 2019 season, the Packers have won 13 games each season, while losing three in their first two seasons and four last season. Through seven games this season, they've already reached last year's loss total and are on pace to finish with a losing record.

Following their loss to the Washington Commanders, Aaron Rodgers placed some of the blame on his teammates.

On the Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers said:

"Guys who are making too many mistakes shouldn't be playing... gotta start cutting some reps, and maybe some guys who aren't playing, give them a chance."

On ESPN's Get Up, former defensive end Chris Canty responded to the comments Rodgers made. He stated that Rodgers must do his own job and stop blaming others.

"Are you the quarterback or are you the head coach? Do your damn job and we can go from there?" Canty said.

He added that Rodgers isn't taking any accountability and he's just placing the blame on his teammates:

"The one thing I don't hear is any accountability on Aaron Rodgers' part. He's not saying we, he's saying they. When you separate yourself from your teammates, that's never a good place to be, especially when you're the quarterback becasue that's a leadership position by nature.
"There's a lot of improvement that even he can make as the back-to-back MVP ... Instead of being part of the solution, you're exacerbating the issue by making it public. This is the second week in a row where we've seen Aaron Rodgers challenge the authority of Matt LaFleur."

Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers could miss the playoffs for the first time since 2018

At 3-4, the Packers are currently at risk of missing the the playoffs. The last time the Packers missed the playoffs was in 2018, which was Mike McCarthy's last season as the Packers' head coach before LaFleur took over.

Aaron Rodgers also had one of the worst seasons of his career as he finished 6-9-1 as the starting quarterback. It's still early on in the season, but Rodgers and the Packers must play better if they want to make the postseason.
