Adrien Rabiot: A Brief Biography
Adrien Rabiot is a French professional footballer who plays as a central midfielder for the France national team and Serie A side Juventus.
Early Life
Adrien Rabiot was born on April 3, 1995, in Saint-Maurice, a suburb of Paris, France. He began playing football at a young age, and joined the youth academy at Creteil, a club based in the Paris suburbs when he was just six years old. He quickly established himself as a promising young talent and was scouted by several other clubs.
In 2010, Rabiot joined the youth academy at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), one of the biggest and most successful clubs in France. He continued to impress as a youth player and was eventually promoted to the senior team.
Club Career
Rabiot began his professional club career with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), the team he joined as a youth player. He made his senior debut for PSG in 2012, and quickly established himself as a key player in the team's midfield.
Over the next several seasons, Rabiot became a regular starter for PSG and helped the team win numerous domestic titles, including several Ligue 1 championships and Coupe de France trophies. He was also part of the PSG team that reached the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League in the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons. In total, he made 227 appearances for them, scoring 24 goals.
In 2019, Rabiot left PSG and joined Serie A side Juventus on a free transfer. He signed a four-year contract with Juventus and became a regular member of the team's midfield. However, his time at Juventus was marred by injuries and inconsistent form, and he struggled to establish himself as a key player in the team.
Despite his fitness issues, he found success in his first season with Juventus, winning a Serie A title and the Coppa Italia. He returned to his best form in the 2022-23 season, scoring seven league goals in 23 appearances so far this season.
International Career
Rabiot has represented the French national team at both the youth and senior levels. He first played for the French U16 team in 2010, and went on to play for the U17, U18, U19, and U21 teams as well.
Rabiot made his debut for the French senior team in 2016, in a friendly match against Ivory Coast. He went on to become a regular member of the French squad, and was part of the team that reached the final of the 2016 European Championship.
However, Rabiot's international career has been somewhat controversial. In 2018, he declined a call-up to the French squad for the World Cup in Russia, citing his disappointment at being named as a reserve player rather than a starter. His decision sparked controversy in France, and led to him being left out of the national team for several months.
He eventually returned to the French squad in 2019, and has since continued to feature in the team's midfield. He was part of the French squad that reached the round of 16 at the 2020 European Championship.
He won his first trophy for France by winning the 2020-21 UEFA Nations League. On November 13, 2021, Rabiot scored his first international goal in an 8–0 win over Kazakhstan, which allowed France to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Records
He has won five Ligue 1 titles with PSG and one Serie A title with Juventus so far in his career.
