Born on December 20, 1996, Abraham Josue Toro is a Canadian professional baseball player who plays third base for the Oakland Athletics. He played with the Seattle Mariners, Milwaukee Brewers, and Houston Astros in the past. In the fifth round of the 2016 Major League Baseball draft, the Astros picked him, and he made his Major League Baseball debut for them in 2019. After the 2022 season, he was traded to the Brewers, then to the Mariners in 2021.
The Oakland Athletics received Toro from the Brewers on November 15, 2023, in exchange for minor league pitcher Chad Patrick. Toro signed a $1.275 million one-year contract with the Athletics on November 17.

Abraham Toro’s Early Life
Toro attended Vanier College and Polyvalente Édouard-Montpetit High School in Montreal. After that, he went to Seminole, Oklahoma's Seminole State College. During his lone season at Seminole (2016), he hit .439 over 55 games with 20 home runs and 86 RBIs. The Houston Astros selected him in the fifth round of the 2016 Major League Baseball draft. After signing with the Astros, Toro played for the Greeneville Astros in his professional debut season, hitting .254 with 19 RBIs in 44 games. Before being traded to the Quad Cities River Bandits in late July, he started the 2017 season with the Tri-City ValleyCats. Between the two organizations, he amassed 69 games played, hitting .246 with 15 home runs and 33 RBIs.
After being selected as a Carolina League All-Star for the Buies Creek Astros at the start of the season, Toro was traded to the Corpus Christi Hooks in July 2018. In 133 games, he hit a season-best .247/.345/.435 with 16 home runs and 78 RBIs. He participated in the Arizona Fall League following the season. In 2019, he returned to Corpus Christi and was named a Texas League All-Star. Toro was promoted to the Round Rock Express after slashing .306/.393/.513 with 16 home runs and 70 RBIs over 98 games. In 16 games with the Express, he hit .424/.506/.606 with one home run and ten RBIs. On August 22 that year, Toro finally made his Major League debut with the Houston Astros.
