Pro Wrestling Career
All Star Wrestling (2018)
At the beginning of his wrestling career, Charlie Dempsey, also known as Jor Bailey, started wrestling with All Star Wrestling. He had his first match against Screwface and won, kicking off a series of matches in February 2018. Notably, he faced Ringo Ryan in Salisbury and unfortunately lost, but he secured victories against Jack Starz in Telford and Dartford. The month concluded with a Four Way Elimination match in Dartford, where James Mason and Max Moran emerged as winners. Despite challenges from wrestlers like Tony Spitfire and James Mason, Joe Bailey showed resilience and determination in his early matches in the All Star Wrestling circuit.
WWE NXT UK and WWE NXT (2022-Present)
Charlie Dempsey made a powerful impact on NXT UK after his debut in September 2021, securing notable wins against opponents like Josh Morrell and Danny Jones. However, a shift in demeanor became evident when Dempsey, vexed by Gallus' disruptions during his backstage interviews, aligned himself with Teoman and Rohan Raja as part of Die Familie. This marked a turning point, as Dempsey embraced a darker persona, complementing his traditional grappling skills and establishing himself as a formidable force on NXT UK.
Charlie Dempsey's NXT debut happened on the August 23, 2022, episode of the developmental brand. The young wrestler was introduced as someone Andre Chase brought in to teach his students during Chase U's excursion to the UK. Since then, Dempsey has made his presence felt on the NXT brand, racking up wins over the likes of Hank Walker and Myles Borne, surely to be an emerging force to reckon with. After participating in numerous matches, Charli Dempsey joined the No Quarter Catch Crew. On February 27, 2024, in a World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) NXT Heritage Cup Title match at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, USA, Charli Dempsey achieved a significant victory. He defeated the reigning champion Noam Dar with a score of 2:1 in Round 5, securing the title change and becoming the new WWE NXT Heritage Cup Title holder.
At NXT: Roadblock, NQCC introduced the "Catch Clause," allowing the entire stable to defend the NXT Heritage Cup, though WWE only recognized Charlie Dempsey as the official champion. The clause was invoked when Drew Gulak successfully defended the Cup on March 19. On April 16, Tony D'Angelo revealed his faction had been hired by NQCC to eliminate Gulak, who was written off due to backstage allegations. After Gulak left WWE on May 3, tensions between the factions led to a six-man tag match at Spring Breakin', won by The D'Angelo Family.
On May 7, after interference from Stacks cost NQCC a tag match, Dempsey granted D'Angelo a Heritage Cup title shot. The Catch Clause was nullified when Kemp and Borne were kidnapped, and D'Angelo defeated Dempsey on May 14 to win the Cup. Dempsey later reclaimed the Cup on August 13, defeating D'Angelo with help from new ally Wren Sinclair. On December 24, Lexis King defeated Dempsey for the Cup after a controversial disqualification involving William Regal’s brass knuckles, marking the first time the Cup changed hands via DQ. However, due to a rules dispute, NXT GM Ava ordered the Cup returned to Dempsey. A rematch at NXT: New Year’s Evil on January 7, 2025, saw King officially reclaim the Cup, ending Dempsey’s second reign at 134 days. WWE does not recognize the earlier DQ title change.
