Born on August 12, 1996, Julio Urías, also known by his nickname "El Culichi," is a Mexican pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball (MLB). Urías is the son of Juana Isabel Acosta and Carlos Urías. On August 12, 1996 when he was just sixteen years old, the Dodgers signed him.

On May 25, 2013, Urías made his professional debut in the Midwest League with the Great Lakes Loons, becoming the youngest player in the league, striking out six batters with three shutout innings. He made his Major League debut against the New York Mets on May 27, 2016. At the age of 19, he was the youngest Dodgers starting pitcher to debut since Rex Barney in 1943.
