Mahender Singh a.k.a the ‘Bulldozer’ hails from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. Cover defender Mahender Singh is an Indian professional Kabaddi Player who plays for the Bengaluru Bulls in the Pro Kabaddi League and was a part of the Indian Men’s Kabaddi Team. Born on 10th January 1996, Singh is a prominent youngster who made his mark in Season 5 of VIVO Pro Kabaddi.

Nicknamed 'The Bulldozer' by coach Randhir Singh, his ability to come up with strong dashes when least expected made him a dangerously unpredictable customer for the opposition raider. Sprinting across the mat, he uses his full force of his momentum to get the opposition raider out of bounds, displaying the maximum of his strength.

Background

The aggressive defender models himself on fellow Kabaddi player Rohit Kumar and regards Rohit as his biggest inspiration in Kabaddi. Enthralled by the sport, Mahender started playing Kabaddi at the age of 14 and got his very first break when he made his debut for the Services at the age of 19.

Rise to Glory

Singh got the limelight in his very first season with the Bulls when he was given the title of the most dependable player for his season record-equaling effort of 11 tackle points in the match against U.P Yoddhas.

Mahender has played in only one season in the Pro Kabaddi League alongside the Bengaluru Bulls.

Achievements

In his first season itself, Mahi acquired the title for one of the most successful defenders’ in PKL season 5. By getting the highest tackle points for the Bulls in the season (57 points in 22 matches), Mahender stands 9th in the list of the most successful defenders for season 5 of the Pro Kabaddi League.

In the same year Mahender was also a part of the Indian team that won silver at the senior nationals in 2017 and gold at the federation cup in 2018.
