American pitcher Marco Elias Gonzales, born on February 16, 1992, plays for the Pittsburgh Pirates in Major League Baseball. He once played with the Seattle Mariners and St. Louis Cardinals in Major League Baseball. He was a pitcher and first baseman for the Gonzaga Bulldogs while a student at Gonzaga University.

Gonzales made his Major League Baseball debut on June 25, 2014 with the St. Louis Cardinals. However, a damaged ulnar collateral ligament in his left elbow. led to a Tommy John surgery in 2016. In 2017, the Cardinals sent him to the Mariners. Interestingly, Gonzales and the Mariners agreed to a four-year contract agreement that guaranteed him $30 million before the 2020 season began, with a club option for the 2025 campaign. Gonzales was the Mariners' Opening Day starter in the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign.
