American professional baseball catcher,
Max Stassi was born on March 15, 1991, and is now a member of the Chicago White Sox in Major League Baseball (MLB). He was selected in the fourth round of the 2009 MLB draft by the Oakland Athletics. Stassi debuted in Major League Baseball with the Houston Astros in 2013. In 2019, Stassi was traded by the Astros to the Los Angeles Angels.
The Angels sent minor leaguers Evan White and Tyler Thomas to the Atlanta Braves on December 8, 2023, in exchange for Stassi and David Fletcher. The Braves transferred him to the Chicago White Sox the next day in exchange for an unidentified player.

Stassi was a student at Yuba City High School. As a baseball player for his school, he won two Player of the Year awards from The Sacramento Bee. In addition, Stassi played for the American national baseball team, where he took home gold in the Pan American Games in Barquisimeto, Venezuela, in 2006 and the U16 Baseball World Championship from the International Baseball Federation in 2007.
The Oakland Athletics chose Stassi with the 123rd overall pick in the fourth draft round. In exchange for his commitment to UCLA, he got a $1.5 million bonus, a record for a fourth-round pick.
