Pranati Nayak is an Indian woman gymnast born on 6th April 1995. She hails from Pingla village of Medinipur district in West Bengal. Pranati specializes in artistic gymnastics and represents India internationally.
Pranati Nayak- Early Life, Family & Background
Pranati Nayak comes from humble family background. Her father, Sumanta Nayak, was a local driver in the Medinipur district and her mother is a housewife. Pranati began to take up gymnastics at the young age of 9. On the recommendation of her school coach, she moved to Kolkata to get proper training.
Pranati’s parents had financial constraints but didn’t stop or discourage their daughter from pursuing her dream. She was guided by Minara Begum. Under the tutelage of Minara Begum, Pranati's gymnastics career began to take off. She had participated and won medals in state and national-level competitions.
Pranati Nayak Achievements
After years of hard work, Pranati Nayak got her first international break in 2019 when she won the bronze medal in the Vault event at the Asian Gymnastics Championships. This also confirmed her Olympic berth at the Tokyo Olympics 2020.
In 2021, Pranati Nayak earned a continental quota for the Tokyo Olympics in Japan after the 2021 Asian Athletics Championships were cancelled.
